Good. Me no like drama. Just thought so since the thread was shut down again. Can anyone tell me if there's a compiled list of q's expiring on t the 31st anywhere? I know there's Taylortown preview but I couldn't find specifically a list for just the end of this month. I know I'm probably asking for to much, but I like my cake and frosting too.

I'll let Target set the price of items I want to buy.
So Target can sell Easter M&Ms for 50% off the day after Easter, or it can sell them to stashers for 90% once they find them behind the potted palms? Which situation does Target make more money? Selling to regular normal shoppers, or stashers? And wouldn't you like to come to a store for a slick deal, only to find the goods you want have been stashed?

Again, it's not our job as customers to set the prices of merchandise we buy, that's up to the seller. Of course there's a markup in retail, it's how they make money! It's not our place as shoppers to decide how much money Target can make on a product.
you don't strike me as someone who has ever actually worked in retail, or if so, you have no idea of the markup on seasonal items.
at 75% off, retailers are STILL making a profit on their seasonal merchandise. as i said in a previous post, it gets accounted for. because the vendors will not do returns for any unsold seasonal merchandise, it is heavily discounted in their original invoice.
this is why i refuse to buy holiday clearance until it goes lower than that. i happen to think its ridiculous customers feel they're getting such a discounted price when reality is - it's not a discount at all.

at 90%, yes at that point is when retailers start taking a hit. but even at 90%, you still need to factor in other things. if this merchandise is not sold through, what happens? candy expires, which then makes it unsellable and a complete loss. if merchandise is repacked, you risk things getting damaged. you need to pay employees for the extra time it takes to pack it all up. you also need to figure out a place to store it. which becomes an issue of what should we store - everyday merchandise that needs replenishment on a regular basis, or seasonal crap that takes up a lot of space and can't be sold again until the next season? gee.. i wonder about that one. these are things that make it worthwhile to the retailer to clear it out at 90% off.
if there is a lot of stuff left at that point, inventory management should be stepping in to control how much product they get shipped for the next holiday season. (aka, obviously someone over-ordered that year!)

all that being said, i highly doubt enough merchandise is being stashed away to make a significant difference.

however, you are more than welcome to your 50% discount price if that is what makes you happy. LMAO

If anyone has a Stop N Shop by them, today I was buying 4 O.R. popcorn boxes ($2.29 each) to bring to a party. And I bought 10 pkgs of kraft cheese. Well I paid $2.87 for all of it. Out pops a store Q for $2 off my next order! Read it and it says buy 4 boxes or more and get $2 off! I have 26 more Qs to buy! This is good until 4/6! So pay $1.26 and you get a store Q for $2 off your next order... I think thats a slick deal!

Will they let you combine the store q with the current $2 MFQ (when you allegedly buy Coke...although that purchase isn't required) for Orville's?

Now that would be a super slick deal!

Too bad we don't have Stop N Shop around here...

Although, they do have some horridly-named convenience store called "Kum 'N Go," which I think is about the WORST possible moniker for any business located outside of rural Nevada...but then that's OT.

Because my husbands cousin would return gifts she bought for his kids and keep the money! EEK! So now she blacks out or cuts off the UPC so he can't do it. Sometimes she does it to gifts for our kids too. Not sure why, maybe because she is 85 yrs old and is forgetful. We would never return anything for our kids for the money though.
OOHHH She doesn't want YOU to return and get cash...she wants to make sure that the gift stays the gift...i was wondering why anyone would want to stop someone from returning in case you already have it or need another size, etc. She just wants to make sure the gift remains with you. Got it!

Yes, I was doing this too....got the clearance boxes for 2.14 X 4 (minus 4 $2 q's)= they payed me to take the popcorn after I got the $2 store q back. I used up my 12 q's ---had I known about that extra cash back I would have got more.

This is my first post here on the "dark" side, Teehee but I have to say, that guy was fricking hilarious!! If I wasn't already married, heart heart

1) The "shame" of couponing. I don't care if strangers see me using coupons, but I live in terror that I'm going to run into one of my students when I'm doing a big order, esp. at our local Walgreens. I'm a college professor at a big state school and we live right by the university so all my local stores are heavily frequented by the students. I did run in to one of my favorite students at Walgreens once, but I didn't have anything too embarrassing in my cart yet, laugh out loud

Once, at Smiths (local Kroger affiliate) I did run into one of the other profs in my department. All I had in my cart was: one case of wine laugh out loud and a bunch of single serve frozen fish fillets. This was because I was doing a wine rebate and had coupons for $2 off fish wyb the wine (of course) and the fish was only $1. He took one look at my cart and was like, I want to come over to your house! laugh out loud

2) His coupon envie looks *exactly* like the inside of my purse! I have *NO* organization at all, LMAO Oh well, it still gets done.

Thanks for the laugh.
OMG that is me....I don't mind strangers seeing me doing my recently acquired couponing, but for someone I know...I about die. Last week, a colleague came right up behind me at checkout just as I was handing over q's. I got so red and hot. I couldn't wait to leave and was pleased as pumpkins that none beeped, they didn't bother me over them, and that I just had 5-6 in my stack.

WOW OHHH WOW! That's truly amazing! I can't even imagine what that looked like!
