Q's CVS Lounge

I changed the name of the thread because I think that Q's CVS Lounge gives a better representation of what the thread is about. This isn't a deals thread although I will sometimes be posting deals. I'll probably talk more about Transylvania and the stock market than I will about the drugstores but the main thing is that is that I want this to be a cool place to hang out.

I saw Bergen which is why I thought of Bookends. I used to order signed books from them occasionally. Once I got 10 signed Hulk Hogan books (yes, I know... laugh out loud) and I wasn't home when the UPS guy came. Instead of leaving a note, he went around to the back and stuck them behind a plant. It took 2 weeks of phone calls to figure out what happened and find the books. Fortunately, they weren't damaged. I can't tell you how much trouble it caused. I had customers waiting for those books and they were chewing me a new one. It's funny now but it wasn't at the time...

There's a bookstore in Northvale NJ, called Books & Greetings, in the same shopping center of one of the CVS's I visit. They often have posters announcing upcoming book signings. I've never been in the store but was going to take part in a protest outside of it. Thankfully they decided it was too much hassle to have a michael vick book signing and the event (and protest) was cancelled.

Seriously, a Michael Vick book signing?

They had to cancel a Jose Canseco book signing here because it was too dangerous.

When Jessica Simpson was just starting to get popular, she cancelled her signing event at a WM back East and people went crazy and ripped the store apart. Her next event was in Los Angeles and everybody turned it down because they didn't want another riot. Finally, Tower Records picked it up and they did it in a parking lot in Northridge on a 92 degree day in Feb. You had to get there at 6 am to get a place in line and the signing was at 6 pm. You couldn't leave or you lost your place. I got talked into going by some friends and we hung out for the day. Off duty police officers ran the event a bunch of people got beat up. It was just awful. When I got up to Jessica, she started talking to me and one of the police officers pushed me away from the signing table. All I was doing was standing there holding my cd's. It was absolutely ridiculous.

Trying to come up with a plan for today. I thinking of hitting up some Targets for Febreze and then checking out CVS for clearance and Revlon peelies. I found some more Maybelline q's so I might do mascara for a buck. I'm out of Colgate q's which is a bummer because crt's are printing this week. Still don't have a good scenario for Dove (although I'm hearing that a lot of funny stuff is going on with the bogo). I'll try to finish early so that I can get home in time for the debate but I can't say that I'm excited about it.

I'm in a total creative slump. I can't come up with a Master and Igor story to save my life. Usually, I have way too many to post but now it's like the faucet turned off. Nothing...

So I've been here around a week. I can see that it's going to be really tough to keep the thread going. I don't think there's any interest in it from the people who are already in the lounge (and I totally understand that). For people who know me from the drugstore forum, it's a pita to go from there to here and the drugstore forum already has the bs thread. I guess it all depends on me keeping this thread interesting and like I said above the faucet is turned off right now...

do you staple? this wk is uber active w/ 3x FAR kapersky, 1¢ reams, $1 5 ream half case, gc deal, 20/70 visa checkout, and rewards being released this wk, i think on the 15th. many of the regulars are into reselling copy paper.

Thanks!! I haven't got my last 2 or 3 rebate checks for copy paper so I've been sitting Staples out. I need to track down my receipts and give them a call. I don't have any Staples money right now so I should probably see if I can get a deal on a Staples GC. I could actually use a Kapersky. My free anti-virus is expiring in a week or so.

Lousy shopping day. I did my worst Febreze deal so far and couldn't find anything at CVS. I spent a couple of hours in the garage organizing for this week's sale. Way too hot, though. Today was cooler than yesterday but it was still in the mid 90's. I can't figure out if Blackhawk beat or missed earnings. Johnson and Johnson beat earnings but the stock is down. GoPro is in the 27's. That's about it for the day. Maybe take a nap and then watch the debate (which will probably put me to sleep again).
