Q's CVS Lounge

I changed the name of the thread because I think that Q's CVS Lounge gives a better representation of what the thread is about. This isn't a deals thread although I will sometimes be posting deals. I'll probably talk more about Transylvania and the stock market than I will about the drugstores but the main thing is that is that I want this to be a cool place to hang out.

Better than last week but still very poor.

What do you think about Chrysler, Twitter, and JP Morgan? Chrysler is spinning off Ferrari this week, Twitter reports earnings and you've got the Dorsey wildcard, and JPM came through Q3 pretty well. I'm also thinking about Facebook.
With my record of late you must be asking so you can avoid any stocks I like. I have some JPM and FB. I don't have any thoughts about TWTR, and I only buy domestic individual stocks so I wouldn't get into FCAU. I tried to buy BIG this week when it dropped after the WMT earnings, but my limit order missed by about ten cents.

Which stock did you try to buy BIG?

Twitter is interesting. Dorsey is a rock star and the stock has gone up since he took over. Steve Balmer just bought 4% of the company. But (and there's always a but) there's a lot of short interest in the stock. They report earnings this week. The stock could crash or double.

Triple G wins by a ref stoppage in the 8th. WSOF 24 was nothing special. Going over ads and stock quotes...

I googled GGG and got quite a few different names. Theres a Japanese wrestler, Great God Gentaro, too.

You need to look at it this way, you get HBO on New York time.

Yeah, but my HBO schedule is Pacific time so I have to remember to subtract 3 hours. I hate to say it but I screw up a lot and get the times wrong. My biggest goof this month is when I forgot the new season already started and I missed Chicago Hope (not this week but the week before).

I watched a couple hours of that survival show the other night where these 2 guys are stuck on an island and have to get to the beach but they're always blocked by the jungle, waterfalls, and cliffs. They're also being chased by somebody but I haven't figured that part out yet. I think they were also in Texas but I missed how they got from Texas to the island. I've done a lot of backpacking where I've been out for a week at a time but I don't have anywhere near their survival skills. I've encountered some bears and a rattlesnake in my travels. The rattlesnake was probably the worst. We had just crossed the Kern River by Mt Whitney and we had to go up this trail on the side of the cliff to get to the hot springs. There was this rattlesnake sitting in the middle of the trail and he wouldn't move. We had to walk up the cliff to get around him which wasn't easy because the cliff was so steep. A rattlesnake bite in the middle of nowhere (we were 50 or 60 miles away from civilization) wouldn't have been fun. After the hot springs, we headed back and came out through Sawtooth Pass in Mineral King (we had started off in Giant Forest). Sawtooth was one helluva climb I don't care how good of shape you're in. Coming down the backside was super dangerous because it was all loose rocks and one bad step and you could easily break an ankle. Mineral King is incredibly beautiful. It's like being in Switzerland.

Here's Sawtooth...

Here's a pic of Giant Forest. It's where I get the joke of Igor hitting the sequoia trees in his plane... laugh out loud

my reps are palindromic! 13031 at this writing

4 U, QQ

from me and "my words" -I think Palindrome was the first one that made you Scratchhead

Midnight! Happy birthday, DH
poor guy, having BD on a Monday
He has to interview someone so can't take it off
I have it easy
his favorite pie is MC French Apple-which I think is their fancified term for Dutch Apple
special price on pies thru Oct. 8.99 -I think I paid $13 last year
and right next door is Outback so I'll probably get Carside toGo

I'm still doing TV time warp
Decades has "binge weekends" and this weekend it's The Rogues
starring Charles Boyer, David Niven, Gladys Cooper & Gig Young
Not sure why movie stars did 1/2 hr show
about a family that's sort of a cross between Robin Hood & Mission Impossible
and I guess the A-Team, using wit & cunning instead of guns & Mr T StrongAngry2

Must have used my quota of smilies so better say 'night!
may your h-ween candy be cheap, and at least half of it left by the 31st

yep, ain't nobody worth a pie in the face anymore

Rogues was only made '64-5 but the seem to have made a lot of episodes. I don't remember any repeats whenever I tuned in over the weekend

Took poor BD boy to the train at 6am, then went to a couple of stores & worked on Qs in the car. Planned on 3 more stores but the "call of the bladder" sent me home. the 3 stores are within 2 miles of here so I thought I'd just jump back in the car.
yeah
right

why is the bladder so much more demanding in the A.M.?

time for a nap wave

You know, you are a very hard lady to catch but your profile gave you away Wink A. I like your new avatar! I thought about changing mine for Halloween but I figured I'm already set for that. lol. I'll miss the hug though. Does that mean any hugs since your avatar change aren't free? B. Happy Birthday to your DH! What did you get him? ...... I didn't get him anything, so can you add my name to your gift? laugh out loud C. Outback to Go is the BEST. I always order off the Joey menu since it's cheaper and it really is a lot of food (cheeseburger, baked potato, drink, bread). I haven't had it in a while though.
