I changed the name of the thread because I think that Q's CVS Lounge gives a better representation of what the thread is about. This isn't a deals thread although I will sometimes be posting deals. I'll probably talk more about Transylvania and the stock market than I will about the drugstores but the main thing is that is that I want this to be a cool place to hang out.

I checked Fresh & Easy out tonight. Very unimpressed. Health & beauty was at 20%. Even if it was 50% off with what they had I wouldn't have got very much if anything. Target was equally unimpressive. The cheapest Pantene they had for the GC deal was $6.99. I didn't see anything else to buy (but I forgot to check out Tresemme) so I just got some stuff for dinner. I did well at CVS and RA and we actually got some rain.

Yes, but I checked at the register and the cheap kit wasn't counting. I saw the hanging brush thing did count but they are always instantly sold out. Am I missing something? I'm way out of the Target loop these days so I have no idea what the deals are.

the 4.99 short handle 360 duster is i think mistakenly included. use an inventory checker like brickseek, brickpicker, or fyndly to check store inventory b4 you go and go early.

Not only is George Benson a great guitarist but he also can sing. He's probably had the most success of any jazz crossover artist (although Kenny G would be close but obviously there's a huge difference in talent between the two). Earl Klugh has had a lot of success as jazz instrumentalist. I've been lucky enough to see George Benson (many times) and Earl Klugh (once) play live. At one of the Benson concerts, Stevie Wonder came out and played drums. Wonder is actually a pretty good drummer.

George Benson's classic chill album is Breezin. If you haven't heard it, it will blow your mind. Even people who hate jazz like Benson.

You've got me on a chill kick. Here's a classic from Grover Washington Jr. The album won a Grammy for best jazz performance and I believe the single (Just the Two of Us) also won a Grammy. For me, the standout song was always the title track Winelight.

Oh, what the hell, here's one more from George Howard. it's an instrumental version of Love Will Follow. I love how the sax solo flows into the guitar solo and then flows back again to the sax. I get chills every time I listen to it. I never got see Grover but I did see George Howard at Humphries in San Diego. He did the circular breathing thing (wish I could do that, believe me I tried) and he was beyond amazing.

I tried for years to play flute but to put it nicely I sucked. I even took lessons from a guy who was in Rod Stewart's band but it was all wasted on me. I have zero talent. My nephew, on the other hand, is an absolute natural. He borrowed the neighbor's sax and in a couple of weeks he was playing like a professional. He made lead sax in his high school jazz band. I think he could easily make a living as a sax player but he has no interest. He bugs the crap out of me laugh out loud When I take him surfing, he learns things instantly that have taken me years to do EEK! I remember when he was really young teaching him how to do a flip turn in the pool and he did it perfectly the first time just like on tv. It drives me crazy... laugh out loud

Ok, Haagen has at least 3 markdown schedules going - 10-20, 10-30, and up to 50%. At one of the 50% stores, they said that the last day was Nov 24 but that may vary from store to store. Also, at one of the 50% off stores the health & beauty items were 40% off but at the other 50% off store they were only 20% off. I stocked up on Kotex pads 20 ct for $.52 and $24 I-Caps for $2. They'll both be free at the next markdown (which is probably tomorrow) but somebody will probably buy them before I get there. I had a small goal at my last store - make enough profit to pay for my pizza.

The Haggen site doesn't even list CA locations anymore. I thought I would be able to see which locations are still open, but they don't show any.
I didn't make it out today, it rained. Lots of thunder and lightning for the last several hours, I hope it stops by tomorrow because I need to go to Sprouts to get the gift cards. I might check out a Fresh & Easy tomorrow, but I don't think I'll make it to Haggen until Thursday.
