RA

RA did a DD this Saturday. The prices didn't change to the new ad prices but you got the points from both the old deal(s) and the new deal(s). If the item(s) you're getting were points deals for both weeks, you got points for both deals. If you didn't max out on the new deal, the limit reset on Sunday so it's like you didn't do it. This is incredible especially with the starting points promotion. Who knows how long it will continue or if it will continue. I'm wondering if you've already maxed out the starting points deal for this week if the starting points deal for next week will kick in on Saturday and you can do another deal and then it will reset on Sunday and you can do 2 more starting points deals for the new week.

I did not get the P&G bonus for $30 of P&G items purchased on Saturday. It was available on Sunday but if I had already hit the limit on the starting points deal on Saturday, all I was able to do on Sunday was one P&G deal for 1000 points.

My conclusion is don't max out the new deals on Saturday. If the limit is 2 just do the deal once and hopefully the limit will reset on Sunday.

The RAQ in the paper for Gillette razors was beepless on the disposables on Saturday but beeped on Sunday. The $3 Gillette razor mq is beepless on most disposables (but beeps on the Mach 3) and beeps on the non-disposable razors. This is only at RA. It scans fine everywhere else. I noticed that some P&G mq's are beepless at one RA store but will beep at the next RA store. I don't understand this at all.

CVS

This isn't my deal but it's worth repeating. If you have the bogo fragrance crt from last week (I got 2 on most cards), there are some non-designer fragrances that are bogo this week making them free. I haven't done this deal myself yet.

The Tide/Pantene deal limit is 2.

The Revlon peelie beeps on nail polish but is fine on mascara. Nail polish is a mm if you have the $2 Revlon crt from last week and the $3 one that printed today. Both of these Revlon crt's are generic and should print on every card.

I started a thread in the podium and I've taken some shots but it's actually kind of fun. I don't really know enough about politics to be doing that but I'm definitely learning.

I always wait till the last week or two of the liquidation sales, since those are usually SO overpriced within the first month(or two).

Yet every last one I've gone to within the last 5 years or so I would see people walking out with bags full of crap and just have to snicker about what they probably overpaid for those items.laugh out loud

Yet 10 or more years ago I remember being at a mall in NJ(Paramus or Parsippany I think) and the Sam Goody store in there was closing. There was NO ONE in there at all, it was the final day of business and they looked like they had probably 50% of their stock still.

Surprisingly I passed up checking out what they had. I just felt I had too much crap at that point already and didn't need anymore. Plus I figured there was nothing really GOOD left by that point.
The best clearance of all time was Music Plus. They had first editions of The Notebook, Angela's Ashes, and Cold Mountain just sitting there. The music was all picked over but the books were incredible. The clearance sale went on a long time. I went all over So Cal getting stuff. Ok, so here's my Tower story. It was at the end of the sale and they had moved most of the stuff in So Cal to a hub store that also sold books (it was like a Barnes & Noble). It was over an hour drive from me but I went there every day for 2 weeks. At first I got nowhere with the liquidator but I finally started to get some breaks. On the last day, he made this deal with me - every cd was $1 if I bought 1000 of them. I said sure because they still had a great selection. DVD's were included as well. I had picked out around 700 and somebody came in and bought the store. I had to stop and go pay for everything. As I was checking out, the liquidator comes running up to me and said that the guy didn't want the books and would I take them all for $100 (but they had to be gone by six that night). I said sure since it was around $250,000 in inventory and I had a storage locker to put them in. I called up everybody I knew with a truck and we managed to do it. There was nothing collectible, just a bunch of new books - half paperback and half hardcover.

Hi ST!! Do you shop at RA? Check out my Bayer post below.
RA's are too far and out of the way. there are like 3 cvs and wags each closer than any RA's.

the chat threads in DS are for deal speculation.

the lounge is the kind of place to kick back w/ a dracola.

or if you just hang on a bit the noncouponers will lose interest and the diehard couponers will stay on.

I didn't think that the DS forum was a good place to talk about the DD. I don't want to keep it a secret but look what happened at Wags. I figured that if I started up this thread that some people would come over. I put up the link you asked for and in 10 minutes 80 people hit the thread but nobody posted. I figured this isn't going to work so I changed my post to a Little Q story.

i think it's marciadel who says a lot of the *people* are actually automated webcrawlers looking for deals to repost in blogs and such. that's why no comments.

right now we have long time lurkers in target deals coming out of the woodwork asking why deals aren't being posted. um, you have been a member since b4 me and you have less than 500 posts and i've never heard of you b4. wonder why there are no deals.

oh, and of course some things got taken to private b/c some people on fb couldn't control themselves.

Yeah, that's the problem. There's no way to keep the deals here. At least going to the lounge takes more work.

i do target+ and shoprite/sns/kfr codes.

i also belong to the gigantic target facebook group but i very rarely go there. too many noobs who don't understand what they are doing and abuse coupons like crazy. if you say anything you get bashed and kicked out.

i also do instagram. i follow a few people to get various deals. and i post my own deals for target, shoprite, staples, etc.

actually my staples private group is the staples lounge. it's nice. just a few of us do mostly staples clearance.

I like that. I wish I could do something like that with CVS. You're a big name on SD. How do you keep so many people from hitting your thread?

i don't think i'm a big name. there are so many people way bigger than me.

and it's in the lounge. very few deal people go there. there are a lot of slickdealers who only want to do deals. they complain about the littlest OT in deal threads.

also, there's no real good way to follow anybody here on sd like you do facebook friends or follow on ig. the closest there is is you can get a notification if somebody you follow posts a new thread. the people who follow me will be waiting a very long time for me to post a new thread.

so i can go to some other thread or forum i normally don't post in and most people who know me won't know unless they searched all my posts.

and finally, it's staples clearance but i'm not really into technology ( slowtech's the name!) so all the hotdealers aren't interested. it's more of the stuff that gets sold also at target, walmart, etc. just happens to be at staples.

When I think of Target, I think of you so I'm not sure how much bigger you can get.

I think people hit my threads to watch me self destruct. It always happens. It must genetic or maybe I was born that way... laugh out loud

Understatement of the year right here.

To me if I'm even half interested in grabbing something, I'm not just going to grab it first and then worry about doing a return or reselling it later. I want to see what other people's opinions are on the product(if it's something that may require doing research on) versus just doing a blind buy.

Another forum I used to be on(CAG) had a LOT of those "NO OT" types and they would report you to the mods in a heartbeat if you dared to even shoot at comment their way.

The worst posters to me though are the ones who want detailed, step by step instructions on how to do a deal or ask questions with plainly obvious answers who you know didn't even bother reading the OP or Wiki before posting.
