Just a heads up that CowBoom [cowboom.com] is no more and it will now be Best Buy Outlet.

No way they can do it like cowboom anymore. This opens up "cowboom" to millions more. Bigger audience will make prices naturally rise.

The thing that I loved about cowboom is they'd sell stuff that looked like it was put through a washing machine, was missing power cables and and OS... but still worked. For dirt cheap. No way the official best buy store sells stuff like that!

Surely need to wait and see what happens exactly, but a few obvious negative things (for some):
  • No more Amazon Checkout payments.
  • No more auctions (as already mentioned above).
  • No more Friday coupons.
  • No more crazy good prices.
  • Have to deal with Bestbuy website, which even though less glitchy, cancels orders a lot (in case you buy more than one of the same item).
  • No more having time to checkout if the item is in your chart as someone can be faster to checkout.
  • More bad to come for sure, but we shall see.
Hope for some good though.

And how come they didn't give us heads up about the change?

This does not seem like a good news for consumer. Cowboom prices were hard to beat. If they are switching to BBO and not raising the prices (I would imagine they would) then it's fine.
