I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

Dude, you are spreading BS. Costco has the best quality products at the best prices. They even guarantee the products they sell with a satisfaction policy.

Walmart is the one the sells junk for cheap prices or name brand products that are overpriced!

Wanna know why Costco parking lots are full and people pay a membership fee???

Because the Costco experience is worth it!

Oh yeh, then there is the 90 day return policy at Walmart and most other stores! What a ripoff!

Furniture?!?!? Are you completely nuts! Costco has even el cheapo walmart beat on furniture quality and prices. Well, unless you like overpaying for junk, then shop Walmart.

Like everything you have to do some homework when shopping. As a big steak eater, I definitely find their steaks and meats of significantly better quality than Walmart and other stores, while having some of the best prices around. I only shop things that I think I will need bulk of and don't expire, like Diapers, Detergents, cleaning products. Also when Costco has a deal on a big electronic item, I would always go with them because their warranty and return policy is really second to none. Another hidden gem about Costco is their Costcotravel website (maybe not as useful now with COVID), but their bundle packages / cruises / all inclusives/ car rentals were most of the time better deals than regular websites like expedia.

When it comes to produce I generally stick to local stores, and typically get a better price on this and also don't throw away so much stuff from expiring for buying in bulk.

Same feeling about produce except with their Bananas! $1.35 for a rack of bananas (usually 8) is hard to beat. Plus they are of normally good quality lol.

From tools to electronics to kitchen to food to furniture. Like others have said... Costco just has it all and their return policies are hard to beat. It also means they think they sell a good product.

Just received my Citi Costco Credit Card this week. Can't wait to put it to use! Especially with the gas.

Costco is still good and prices are very decent, however they need to stop with the 'made for Costco' crap where they get manufacturers to make one-offs with corners cut to meet Costco price point.

This is a pretty big misrepresentation of Costco. Maybe you're misunderstanding how they work:

Costco has shoppers and they go out and buy set lots of high quality items from manufacturers all over the world (many in the USA). The items they sell are either special editions, one-offs, or regular items with extra features (extra product, an add-on not featured anywhere else, extra warranty, etc).

That's the appeal of Costco- everything is top-notch and premium for the same price as a lot of bargain brands at places like Walmart. You do have to buy in bulk, but that's how you save money. Their meat dept. is fantastic! Also, gas is usually at least .25/gal cheaper than anywhere else.
Sorry, I did not want to participate in this circle-jerk but I do shop at Costco and BJs quite a bit.

At Costco, I do not have to worry about product quality. Even if it is a no-name brand, the quality is top shelf. BJs on the other hand, I stick to products I have purchased before. Even name brands like say Gain dishwashing detergent seem to me to be the el-cheapo version at BJs.

If you want straight CB, you should have a mixture of cards that fit your normal spending categories. Chase freedom/unlimited/sapphire series have the benefit of UR points for travel that can be combined across cards. So the answer is it really depends.

Your impeccable financial management speaks for itself, give them a call for reconsideration. This is more likely a reflection of a robo-approval, keep in mind that because of the current financial climate most of the major banks are in retraction and reducing their exposure by cutting credit lines on thousands of customers. Good luck!

It is though.

"I refuse to use more than one card" guy is likely gonna be getting somewhere around 2% cash back on his spending.

Guy willing to use multiple cards for appropriate spending categories is gonna get 2-3 times more rewards than One Card Guy (and even more than that if used for travel).

Guy willing to do new signups regularly is gonna get like 5-7 times what One Card Guy gets in rewards (and even more than that if used for travel).

So on say $50,000 spend in a year One Card Guy is gonna get back like $1000.

Uses-several-cards Guy is gonna get back more like $2500 (and at least 1.5x that used for travel- maybe 3-6 times that used for premium travel options)

Churns new card signups Guy is gonna get back like $6000. (and at least 1.5x that used for travel, maybe 3-6 times that used for premium travel options)

Obviously travel isn't ideal currently- so you can wait to redeem it- or even taken as cash you're making out a ton better than Only Uses One Card Guy.

Yeah, when I got approved, I only got $1200 as well. Once I went on the Citi Mobile app and requested for a higher credit line, they gave me $6000. Still smaller than my other cards but definitely helps when I spend about $3k per month.

Be a wise man, stay away from Costco and Citibank as they do you no good at all. Smilie
No, there is no bargain in Costco. Being an executive member just for fun. Spend hour to find a parking spot and line up another hour for cashier. The shopping place just some alternative gym for hangout two hours. They got food, lounge chair, books to kill some time. They got security checkup to entry and search at exit just 2nd class of TSA. One could feel like flying away for vacation. That's over hundred dollar of membership well spend. Who care about their product? This is a credit card tread and we care about as fly away vacation experience, right?
Citi Card has always worked out well for me . I do agree Costco shoppers are not the most courteous in the parking lot. I have wondered about that and all I can say is people that go there are on a mission and time seems to be of the essence. But Costco as a whole is the best. Hands down. The products are better quality. Their buyers negotiate with manufacturers better to make sure the consumer has everything they need for use of a product (ex hardware}. Its hard to compare with other places because of these reasons. Service is unequaled. I have shopped at all places for years and I have found Walmart and Sams sound cheap but overall their prices can be beat at alot of places. Overall Costco saves me money, time and most importantly they treat me as (and want me as) their customer. Also for me, I don't see drivers in Walmart or any parking lot that are worth bragging about.
