I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

I recently opened a warranty claim on a $175 device. They have asked me for the original invoice and a repair estimate which can only be got from the manufacturer. It seems too much work to go through the repair estimation to satisfy them. I am curious if people have different experiences or they have handled this request in a different way

Citi?
Had an issue with them a few years ago and a broken TV. They went out of their way to throw up roadblocks as to why they wouldn't consider my claim. Frankly, wouldn't expect anything less, but for me all that meant was their "warranty" was practically useless. That was another Citi card, not the Costco one, but I wouldn't expect their Costco card to be any different.
Depending on what your "device" is you can just return to Costco. I wouldn't bother with the CC warranty hassle if you don't have to.

pretty much the same experience for all CC warranties.

For a lot of extended warranty claims, they are only of much use to those who don't have a real job--too much work otherwise.
Never filed an extended warranty claim that falls into Citi's claim area. If it's too hard to get that then I was mistaken to understand that I've extended warranty that can give me peace of mind. Maybe, for higher ticket items it's worth it. Now what since Citi is pulling back on this benefit? Is Costco going to do anything about it? Wasn't the extended warranty an agreement between Costco and Citi?

Surprising, I just finished a warranty claim for $200 with my Chase visa, but both my Chase visa and Quicksilver Visa use the same Card Benefit Services processing site. Anyway, my point is I actually provided a repair estimate initially but they actually contacted me and told me for claims under $250 I should not submit a repair estimate but a receipt showing I purchased a replacement for the item being claimed. I submitted the receipt and they approved my claim. I would assume Citi Visa uses the same Card Benefit Services processing center as the other Visa cards that have this benefit do.

Curious, what roadblocks? I recently had a successful Chase visa warranty claim but they use the same Card Benefit Services processing center as Citi. My understanding is they just want a repair quote with the diagnosis of the issue (along with a credit card statement and receipt).

I had a $850 Vizio big screen TV claim fully paid by them to me asking me the same questions you did and provided original invoice and provided Vizio a iPhone photo of my screen issue just snowy multiple colors and Vizio provided me a formal email letter to give Citi stating TV would cost more to repair than replace. I had the TV just short of 3 years. I was more than satisfied.
