I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

Alrighty then. I provided information about two sets of numbers that show this hasn't been good for AmEx. Let's have you come up with one now that shows AmEx has/is expected to do well as result of the Costco account loss. Go ahead.
Read through this thread and saw people reviewing how the Credit Limit and Balance will roll over to the new card. What about the Credit Length/History. The Costco AMEX is my highest limit card and longest history. If only the Balance transfers, and I close the AMEX, I wonder what the hit would be to my credit. Any thoughts?
If you have other cards with a history of several years... not much if any.
Ahh - I didn't realize such a card existed. Does this work with warehouse gas pumps? I usually use Sallie Mae master card for my gas purchases outside Costco.
Partially be outsourcing customer service to India. AmEx keeps it all American.

I guess I've been getting lucky. I always got domestic rep from Amex and never with Citi unless something gets escalated. maybe it's just my luck then or maybe the particular card. I have Premier Rewards card from Amex. It does carry a hefty $200 annual fee.
My AX AF is $450, almost 90% of my non-concierge calls were outsourced. OTOH calls to/from Discover ($0 AF) are always handled by a U.S. rep.

I'm a Costco member but have zero interest or less in getting a Citibank Visa. Since I have other Visas can I decline / discontinue the Citibank Visa while still keeping my Costco membership?
Why would you decline the Costco Visa when Citi retains your account history and age, doesn't require a hard pull, AND gives 2% CB at Costco??

FWIW, both my Costco AmEx and my new Blue Cash Preferred AmEx say "Member since 04", though I've had neither of those cards that long. So from AmEx's perspective, you maintain your member history, but I don't know how this applies on your credit report.

can i apply for this card if i dont shop at costco and dont have costco membership
I think you need a Costco membership first, and then can apply for the card. The membership is $55/yr, but you could make far more than that if you use it for gas and restaurants, depending on what your free alternatives are.
The problem is in redeeming the rewards. With the Costco AmEx, you get a voucher every year that you have to redeem at a Costco store. (If it's $100 reward and you only spend $20 at checkout, you get $80 cash back, for instance.) This new card doesn't detail the redemption method yet, but the Costco AmEx is definitely designed for Costco shoppers. In fact, my friend canceled her Costco membership prior to redeeming her annual reward check, and had to jump through some hoops to reactivate it.

Is there another credit card without an annual fee that offers higher than 3% cash back on restaurants?
With this being managed by Citi, do others also think that we can generate virtual credit card numbers for this card?
