I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

I bought a washer dryer set that I'm returning this month but wanted to buy another set that doesn't take up to 3 hours of drying time. So if I buy the new set this month it won't be covered?

Not anymore, extra warranty benefit is gone

Costco and its partners are slowly chirping away some of the nice benefits of Costco membership. they got rid of the in store Photo center and now they completely shut down their operations and handed it off to shutterfly. During Covid, they cut down the food options at the food court and never brought it back (Combo pizza), extended warranty is now removed from their credit cards.

I just got a Costco membership.
depends how much you shop there. consider you can get $300 bonus for spending $ within 90 days of opening on many cards. how long will it take you to make up the difference? if there is a 2% difference in cash back, you would need to spend $15,000 at Costco to break even. How long will that take? Is it worth the hit to your credit score? There are other cards that still over extended warranty protection. For Most people, opening one of these bonus cards every year will get you way further ahead.

So there is even less incentive to get this card now with the extended warranty gone. So what's the point.

So what "extended warranty" cards still exist… that do not have an annual fee?

Most (all?) Chase card products still offer the extended warranty. Some do not have an annual fee (e.g. Freedom)

My other chase with 3% cashback and freedom card for 5% cashback on gas for 3 months almost covers the benefits. No need to get a new card. 1% cashback increase on $1000 gas is only $10

After citi removed this best-in-class extended warranty I will be moving away from using this card, sadly. It was my favorite. Most visa signature cards include extended warranty , but not nearly as good as citi was. Some Mastercards and American Express also have extended warranty but the terms for each have important differences.

So really just about all the benefits we used to have with Amex are going away. Costco shareholders can profit more off the club members. Hasn't really felt like a club for well over a decade, though.

Sounds like you might have a dryer vent issue. If the pipe is clogged, too long, too small, or has too many bends your clothes will take forever to dry.

Agreed. I recently had a similar issue and was able to fix it by running a new vent(in my case was easier to replace than to clean). Samsung dryer works like new again. Lint trap wasn't sitting properly so the line was full of lint, very dangerous. I saw it was clogged at the exterior vent and yeah no bueno.

Or.. You used one of those cheap flexible ducts and pushed the dryer too close to the wall. That might actually trip the thermal sensor though...
