All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! hug I've so been there on one paycheck when mortgage and such calls for 2. Prayers that this will be a temporary vacation.
My hobby, before SD, was to listen to the radio stations (definitely not for the music, but the queue to call in). There are many ways to win movie tickets, movie $$, restaurant GCs, family outings and concerts.

I am pretty well-knowned with the radio djs b/c I won frequently and learned to be a fast redialer (memorized their # & speed dial). Started when I was in high-school when we couldn't afford to go to the movies.

I have won many restaurant GCs, tons of concerts (REO speedwagon, Journey, John Mayor, Chris Daughtry...), Disney on Ice (almost every year), portable DVD player, DVDs, weekly movie passes, pedicures, haircuts, and the best of ALL, a family all-inclusive trip to JAMAICA.

It's the thrill of winning and the determination to keep trying, even when I don't care for the prizes offered (like tanning).

That is great for you, always nice free meals and tickets! I don't know if I would have the patience to wait till the time to call in! laugh out loud That is funny that you say this, because in High School the neighbor girls behind me, always called in to the stations and won tickets to everything. They always got to go to concerts, movies and give the parents going out to eat presents for B-Day's and anniversaries.

I guess I better stop my chit chatting (the chatter box I am laugh out loud) or I won't get 3 acres mowed I promised the DH I would do today, since he just spent 3 hours weed eating yesterday, and just sharpened my rider blades. Suntan or burn I should say here I come!

Were you my neighbor? Smilie

One time, my kids used another phone to dial. They got through and gave the phone to me, but I was only able to give out my first name and got disconnected. The DJ played that part and you can hear the kids screaming in the background, "Yeah, we won!!!" It was the excitement that they like to hear. We won a Mother's Day package of $75 restaurant GCs & a portable DVD player.

Wow! Just on the radio?? That's funny, because my mom just said since you are home for the summer, listen to the radio and be the Nth caller, etc. Guess I'll look into it! My grandma used to be the queen of coupons and winning things. She was always getting deliveries and showing off her receipts. My mom is laughing at me because I'm now trying to do it some 15 years after she passed.

Sooooo what does everyone do with all of the little trinkets that their kiddos accumulate? I've got tons of kids meals toys, markers, crayons, toy jewelry, birthday party supplies, $1 spot stuff that is in my dd's playroom. She needs to get rid of lots. Too much stuff. Not substantial toys to sell at garage sale, unless I package them up. What else do you do?

Throw them away?? I'm having a hard time with that one. Friends of ours do that and I'm like NOOOoooooooo!

Donate them?

You can't really give this stuff away to friends. They would be like, I can get that stuff myself if I really wanted it....

That's what my receipt looked like also, and I did get the ecb's. I think my total purchase was actually over $20 though because that's the limit they gave. What is going on at all these stores?!?!?!
My total was over $20 too. I don't know. I wasn't doing the battery deal this week, so I didn't pay too much attention to it, just knew it didn't look right.

BTW~~ Jen (I think) was right about The Strangers!!! F'ing SCARY!!!!!!!! I was practically in my hubby's lap!! No screaming, but many heart attacks!!!!
Did you use the Pond's movie ticket on the Strangers?

Good idea, the ones you can swallow that way you don't taste it! I might try the chewables, since they are orange creme flavor. What I used was a yucky powder mix, I shudder to think about it now!
Yeah, I used that powder stuff for awhile. Still have some in the pantry, think I'll try to pawn it off on my dad or my brother! laugh out loud

That's awesome! DD always wants to call, I just never had the patience for it much. I've won once or twice.

BTW, there's also a thread here on SD about movie sneak previews, I'll have to look for it later tonight, about to leave the house.

I can't throw these away either. One thing we do, that has been really awesome, is send them on a mission trip our church goes on to Honduras. DH has been, and loves to have things for the kids. Our kids little junk toys were priceless treasure to these kids.

So now, I keep a box in the garage, and anytime there's a 'little' toy sitting around that we need to get rid of, I drop it in the box. Even better, when we get a toy at a fast food restaurant that we don't want, it goes in here still in the package. Now they're available whenever we hear about a mission trip where the kids might enjoy them.

I didnt lose hours or anything. So we will make due. Hubby has gotten 2 jobs so far tonight from friends at work who need stuff so it will be okay. I will just keep cutting coupons and drop stuff if need be

I don't know what these look like but only once have I not let someone use movie cash or something like it for whatever movie they want. The studios don't have any way of knowing what they were used for....we got movie cash like a week ago that said IRON MAN ONLY, and if the people hadn't been so rude when it was pointed out to them by the cashier, I probably would have let them use it for whatever...being nice pays!!!

Thanks good to know that the studios can't tell and the theater will still get reimbursed!!!

Quote from lpagel :
Thank you! I just got off the phone and the nice lady said they'd send me the coupon in the mail... and she would call me if there was a problem. So hopefully I'll get it soon. She said you actually only have to buy 2 J&J items to get the coupon which is either $2.50/3 or $3/3.
Also, you don't need to buy 3 J&J things to use the catalina either Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I have bought 2 and used the old catalina and then got the new one woot NO BEEPS!! heart kmarts registers!!!

As completely sad as it is, its the society we live in. People everywhere are too quick to sue. If you help someone, and happen to administer the wrong help, you can be sued. Thats why even in public places and airplanes for example, Drs and Rns are becoming less and less likely to stand up if needed, malpractice suits are to big of a risk. Pretty pathetic world at times, scary to be raising 3 little girls in this era..EEK!
Also, beyond malpractice, the practitioner also has to think of his or her own safety. I know this may seem sad, but with the possibility of contracting diseases like AIDS or Hepatitis (when bodily fluids are present) it is a reality. I personally will do everything I can to help without putting my self at risk. I do carry a one way valve mask and gloves in my car (as well as tape, scissors and a stethoscope) but if I am in the mall I may not have these items. As a provider I have to treat everyone as if they could be "contaminated" if that make sense. Don't get me wrong, I am a nurse and LOVE to help, but I also have 2 kids and husband to care for.
