That is a really good point. DD did not have ear infections initially, but she did end up having three sets of ear tubes, the first set going in when she was almost four. I wonder if there could be a connection?

You guys are so funny!LMAO I love it.

So I just got another email back from Early Bird Coupons and they finally "fixed" my order. I had originally ordered:

(94) upto $30/1 Breeze/Contour meter
(20) $1/2 General Mills
(20) $1/1 Cheetos Cracker Trax
(40) $1/1 Lay's Cracker Crisps
(30) $1/1 Dove Go Fresh
(20) $3.50/1 Dove Skin Vitalizer
(40) $3/1 Dove Hair Care
(30) $1/1 Dove Go Fresh Cool Moisture
(40) $1/1 Ziploc Big Bags

They had to call in a favor to get the Breeze/Contour coupons. And since I ordered my coupons almost a month ago I asked her if I could change my order a little bit because sales and rainchecks are long gone. I also made the point that since they would be charged by PayPal for a refund it actually works out in their favor to use the refund amount as a store credit and order more coupons. This is what they went me in an email this morning:

"Hi xxxxxx, we are finally done - (we had to call in a favor on the Breeze).

Here's what we came up with (no package has been returned to us as of 6-19-08):

We only came up with 40 of the Breeze - a refund of $1.62 will be issued on those.
General Mills - replacing those with 8-9 x date, (actually 8-9 is a better coupon)
Cheetos Cracker Trax - sending x 7-20
Lay's Cracker Crisps - sending x 7-20
Dove Go Fresh - sending x 8-31
Dove Skin Vitalizer - sending x 8-31
Dove Hair Care - refund of $1.50
Dove Go Fresh Cool Moisture - refund of $.90
Ziploc Big Bags - sending x 8-2
A refund of $4.20 (which is the total of all of your refund amounts) will be forthcoming."

I originally spent about $10 or $11 on my original order and thought that I got a "killer deal".

I am planning on donating all of these to a pediatrician in my area that gives them to families whose children need the testing supplies but can't afford them due the cost or lack of health insurance. This is the doctor that my nephew goes to and they had to monitor his glucose levels for awhile to figure out what was wrong with him. Well, this pediatrician had a couple of these monitors that had been donated to him and he gave one to my nephew to use. So kinda long story short... just repaying the favor and paying it forward. Good karma.

That's great to hear that they will take those monitors. A lot of CVS people stocked up on them b/c they were free. I have tons of those Qs too and will gladly send them to the ones who buy and donate, like you're doing. The good thing is that the expiriration date is 3/2009 - plenty of time to get them.

Too bad there's no cheap way to stock up on strips. Monitors are useless without strips, which are more expensive.

If I was you I would ask local doctors if they have a need for them or know any doctors in the area who have patients with a need for them. I forgot to add that the whole thing with my nephew happened last summer before I had discovered coupons and knew that coupons for these blood glucose meters even existed. We were shocked that someone had been kind enough to donate $70 meters.

I have 3 girls that can recite nursery rhymes when they were 1 1/2 to 2 yrs old. Then, the little guy, my 4th, started saying "papa" at 8 months. We thought "yeah, he's earlier than his sis". Nope, that was the 1st and last word for a long time. The whole time, he understood everything we tell him and can follow directions accurately.

At 3, he was still doing baby talk and we had to enroll him a state-funded early childhood class (preschool). He's almost 4 now, can talk in sentences, but still pick and choose what he wants to learn.

Like everyone said, kids will learn at their own pace and you can't put expectations on their age.
All of these posts are sooo true, I hope though that you mention it to your pedi at the next visit. My niece had a nodule on her vocal cord that made talking painful, of course children don't know that talking shouldn't hurt so she just talked late, and when she did it soft and rare. Hearing problems, including frequent ear infections or even just fluid on the ear drum can delay talking and is simply remedied by tubes in the ears. Lastly some children are litterally tongue tied, this is easy to check at home, can he stick his tongue out past his lips? Tongue tied children talk late, and have difficulty moving from a bottle ot other types of cups because they have mastered the bottle and they have to retrain there tongues for other types of cups/staws and sippy cups.

But most likely all is wellBig Grin

Do you really keep up with updating your coupon savings in your siggy? Seems like that would be such a PITA. I'd also be scared of people smacking me.

I did have a couple of good AC totals, but still, when I find myself giving away half of this sh** because I have so much, its gotta stop. Is there an 800 number i can call, because I know I have a problem. Thats the first step right? Admiting the problem?

ok ladies i am posting this on here because i know someone on here has some advice..

I have been a sah mom now for about two weeks, and I am having a hard time adjusting. My DD is 6, and besides being sassy, not really a problem.

Any advice on how to make the change easier... I have worked from home the last 2 years, and used to being at home, but this is a whole new thing. I didnt think I would have as hard as time with it as I am.. Any advice is appreciated.
Most SAHM's that I know, plan an outing 3-4 days a week. We go to the library for Story Time, the only cost on this is gas, unless you are supper lucky and can walk there. Added bonus, new free reading material for you and dd. Does your mall have an indoor playscape? Plan to meet up with some of your daughters friends at the park or the mall's playscape. Of course shoppingBig Grin and other errands, children learn a lot from going shopping with mom.

Gas prices are high right now, so I have been home now for 7 years and this is the first year I have actually stayed at home so much. I usually have at least one outing a day.
Since I am conserving gas, I have planned, pool time in the back yard, invited friends over for playdates. and have set craft times and computer times, and movie times. So my 6 year knows that Thursday is playdough day, Wed is craft day with variing crafts, and Monday and Friday are errand days. oh, and Tuesday is Library day. I have massive amounts of beads, and bought craft kits, most craft stores have weekly coupons so I don't have to pay full price or wait for a sale. You can also plan painting time outside in the mornings, Since she is probaly used to a schedule at school, it really helps to continue some sort of schedule for both you and her.
