It was pretty easy to get the barcode off. First I used an exacto knive (razor edge) to lightly slice the paper. Then I peeled up one corner and it came off pretty easily.

I do have some extra of these forms if anyone needs one. Says offer expires 6/30/08, so I'd need to get it off to you pretty quickly so you could get it in the mail. Requires UPC and original receipt.

Thanks, I was thinking the UPC was printed right on the plastic bottle, didn't think about a paper label. My rebate offer expiers 10/31/08, I just printed it. Well I didn't want to waste ink so I used the "help" to have it mailed to me. Let's see, where did I find it....

Here it is: Try Me Free Zout Rebate Offer

ok ladies i am posting this on here because i know someone on here has some advice..

I have been a sah mom now for about two weeks, and I am having a hard time adjusting. My DD is 6, and besides being sassy, not really a problem.

Any advice on how to make the change easier... I have worked from home the last 2 years, and used to being at home, but this is a whole new thing. I didnt think I would have as hard as time with it as I am.. Any advice is appreciated.
I have never been a stay at home mom (I'm still kidless!) but my mom was the entire time I grew up. Some of the things she did to stay sane...

Gardening - if you don't have room for a bigger garden (hers got bigger and bigger every year... it is now the whole back yard. We don't have grass anymore really!), do container gardening. My sister just does herbs on her apartment patio in pots right now. It was fun for us to pick raspberries/strawberries/tomatos/rhubarb/etc growing up. Even just looking at pretty flowers outside was nice Smilie

Volunteering - Even just being a room parent is a great way to be involved and stay busy without too much time or effort required. Otherwise you could try helping with stuffing mailings/hall monitor etc (my mom did this both at school and her church).

Is your DD interested in any sports/activities? My mom got to socialize with people at soccer games and tennis lessons. And it gave her a small break from us Smilie

Free things! The library was mentioned already and I highly recommend it - we LOVED going to the library and would bring home so many books each week! If you have any parks/beaches nearby, they can be good to find people to meet up with and chat there.

If you have museums nearby, they offer free days sometimes - keep an eye out for them. I went to the Field Museum and Institute of Art in Chicago earlier this year on their free days, was crowded but very nice.

Where are you located? I hate to add on alot of expense to ship them to you. Do they need to be in the original box? I have a bunch, & a couple of options to donate them locally, I am just happy to share wherever they'll do the most good and actually get used.

I know one mom told me one time that while her insurance covered the expense, her DD (under 10) needed to have one at multiple locations at a time, and insurance wouldn't pay for that many.

I'm in upstate NY, and yes, it would probably be kind of expensive to ship them. Sorry, I thought you meant you had the coupons you wouldn't be using and I'd be glad to buy the monitors here and take them to the flu clinics. Between my daughter and I, we have about 25 for this seasaon so far, but I'm out of coupons. Noone seems to care that they're opened btw, since we sent in some of the rebates....matter of fact, I suspect some are just glad to get them for the free strips, so if you have any local OFA sites that might be a good option for you too.

I grew up in California and never managed to make it to the San Diego zoo. The Dallas and Fort Worth Zoo's are very nice! The Austin Zoo is just sad, and the San Antonio zoo is sad compaired to Dallas and Fortworth, but leaps and bounds better than Austin. If you ever go to Denver with your family I Loved that zoo because of the polor bear exhibit! The zoo in Fresno, Ca is nice but pricey for what they have. This is the zoo I grew up closest too and I remember it when some of the exhibit's where new and it has a run down feel to it now.

I sooo wish there was a free zoo new me!
We do utilize the YMCA for there pool usually, but they are all so far from me right nowFrown A lot of places have city run pools as well, and they are generally very reasonable, like $2-4 per person for residents.

We got stir crazy this afternoon and ran to Hutto to use up some q's at walmart and walgreens, no Target there thoughFrown
You must be very close to me, I didn't realize that. Funny thing, SA Zoo used to be much nicer than Fort Worth Zoo when I was growing up, then FW put alot into their Zoo, and SA really didn't do anything more with theirs.

Yeah, I'm in Texas, that probably wouldn't work. Although my family is from the Utica area. Smilie

Sorry, thought I mentioned it....Office for the Aging. They do great work around here, very happy to pass on goodies to people who can't get out and such. My 2 granddaughters have taken to making up gift bags (about 80 Essence of Beauty bags for free, as I'm sure all you CVS'ers know, lol) from my Target and CVS stash and I take them there to be given out. Good for the girls to be learning and good for people who don't have anyone to bring them anything.....win-win the way I see it.

Hey guys...No Targeting for me this week ...a not so swell run on Sunday and then our world took a hit on Monday when we took the lil guy to the Pedi and got told they think he might have a skull formation disorder that causes the 5 plates in the skull to fuse prematurely causing less room for brain growth, swelling and a bunch of other possible issues..Crying...We took him for the suggested Xray and we havent heard anything back yet...We are trying to be positive, but when they were looking at the screen to make sure they got the pics they needed it just seemed like theywere asking a lot of questions and taking a lot of notes...Happy thoughts and prayers appreciated...Good luck this week getting all those cheapie/free diapers, wipeys and cereal!!hug
Oh my gosh! We will be praying for you and your lil guy!

He won't drink from a regular sippy cup, tried it with juice since he was 8 months old. Only will drink with a straw or from a juice box. So we modify sippy cups to avoid spillage, stick a straw in them and we're lucky!

We haven't been warming since we took him off formula, no way.

Good tip on the big deal, I wish he talked though so he could realize that we're making a big deal. We do Yaa's and high fives (he loves high fives) but we'd love to do more.
Don't they make "sippy cups" with straws anymore? Ours were playtex. But they were plastic, and I don't know if you want to go that route given the "beware of plastics" info out there lately? You might also consider a straw thermos (if he's beyond the throwing/breaking stage that is! laugh out loud )

DS#1 was harder for us to transition than ds#2. Actually, ds#1 has been my more difficult child in general. laugh out loud He was also late to talk. He finally started saying 2-3 word sentences just before he turned 2 1/2. I had tons of people suggesting sign language for him, but I just could never get into it. But maybe that would work for you?

Anyway, ds#1 has continued to have speech issues. He finally started speech therapy through the public school system when he turned 4. And his turn-around has been remarkable!!! But we also came to know that he has "reverse swallow". That means his tongue moves forward when he swallows instead of backward. So when he pauses to take a breath while speaking, his tongue is kind of working against him to make sounds. He also has an "open bite" and will need braces soon to correct the overbite. All of those issues caused him problems when drinking from the bottle and also from the sippy cups and straw cups. Believe it or not, his speech therapist actually said the straw cups were better for him because it forced his tongue to retract while sucking.

HTH! Hang in there! When I look back now, I regret all the time I spent worrying about him! He's turning out just fine!! hug

To all of you who are keeping us in your thoughts and prayers...the hugs, prayers and well wishes are much appreciated....its the waiting that is killing us! They told us if we don't hear anything by lunchtime tomorrow to call...so we don't have to agonize over the weekend...

Congratulations PrincessKelleye!! hug Glad you are doing well and home with the fam...and all ready for a Target run...you crack me up girlie...LMAO

So, somehow I am gonna have to slip in a roadtrip to a target in another galaxy far far away sometime in the coming week...my DD lives on Fruit Loops..Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Just dont feel like another stare down with the LOD from hell...2x of that is enuf for me..vomit

Double...the cheerios comment seriously made my day..I needed that..if only TT a girl was that fun..Nono...On the talking thing...our DD talks up a storm with us but is quiet around others until she is really comfy..I would be rich if I had a quarter for every time one of the relatives said she just doesnt talk..ummm....yes she does...too dang much...you just arent the designated reciever of her comments and observations...a few months later and now they cant shut her uplaugh out loud ...Each child in their own time...some will TT early..some will walk or talk...some will do complicated geometrical analysis that would make the creatures on Sesame Street Jawdrop in awe...they do what they do when they feel like doing it..and watch us worry ourselves into the next box of P10 nod

I did buy an orange racecar one, it's big, I think he's scared of it. He stares at it and throws it. Very typical. We are only putting water in it right now.

He's liking this little einsteins one that came in those clearance dish sets but he threw it and broke it today. So I bought a mickey mouse one in my run tonight. I may duct tape the bottom so if he throws it it won't crack

Anepu-I actually get deal alerts for toysrus, it was the first thing I opened when I got home. But luv ya for mentioning it so now I actually remember to print it!!!

Yes, you did, it was a blonde moment here, thanks!

And I love that you're involving your granddaughters. DD helped me last year with all the stuff we gifted away via donations, and I think it gave her a new found sense of all she has. Instead of fussing when I go to CVS, Walgreens, Target or wherever to get a deal, she gets it that she is very lucky - and so are others - thanks to my shopping skill. Smilie
