The drama has nothing to do with trying to contribute (unless adding your opinion on drama is contributing). Nothing that was posted today had any deals in it - just opinions and we all know that everyone's opinion is different. And yes, the thread was shut down discussing new people (however, discussing new people jumping on and voicing opinions rather than adding deals).

If a new person posts a run or finds a good clearance and posts, no drama there.

I found the most awesome deal on beer tonight. I found $4 Heineken, $4 Budweiser, and $3 Miller tearpads at gas stations and used them on the 6 packs of bottles. $1.50 per 6 pack. Yeah for my party!!!

Wow! Awesome beer deal! I am jealous.
However, I was so excited tonight because I went to a Super Target across the state line that sells alcohol and I was able to stock up on alcohol for tomorrow's bbque. The Targets in my state only sell 3.2 beer so I was mucho excited!!!!!

Okay, so I was searching for the article online about the $5/$25 altered coupon and came upon this other article

http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov...?NaID=2704

Quote :
Officers from the Montgomery County Police Fraud Section Retail Theft Unit have arrested a man and charged him in connection with his use of altered coupons.

Loss Prevention officers at the Germantown Target, located at 20908 Frederick Road, noticed that a man was using $10 Target coupons for his purchases. Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that the coupons that were being used were issued and expired in 2004 for a $10 toy rebate. The coupons had been altered with the photo of the toy and the expiration date cut off. Target Loss Prevention officers learned that these altered coupons had been used at the Germantown, Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Frederick Target stores since September of 2005 and had resulted in a loss of over $8,000.
The Retail Theft Unit and Target Loss Prevention officers identified the man as Rajeev Malhotra, age 40, of Clarksburg, Maryland, and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On August 26, Malhotra was arrested after he passed six coupons for his purchases at the Gaithersburg Target. He was charged with theft over $500 by scheme and was released on personal bond.
So, this basically happened because he altered the expired coupons, right? Not because he was just using the expired toy coupons? Freaked me out a little. laugh out loud

Sadly we moved away from one of the only grocery stores in the state doubles, Kroger. None of those in the metro DC area. I'm drooling over some of the great deals that some of you can get from stores that double or triple coupons.
I'm in the metro DC area... both Safeway and Giant double up to and including $0.50, SuperFresh used to double $1 but dropped that, and have come back with doubles up to and including $0.99. And several times more recently, I've seen SF triple.

i don't know.. but to be honest i avoid the toy coupons like the plague. they are often used on *not* the right things, and the $$ values are much too high for my personal comfort level - i always felt that using them just screamed to AP, "grab me! take me away!" ick. did not give me a good feeling at all, so i only ever used them 2 or 3 times and its been a long time since then.
i still manage to bring home a lot of free stuff without using them. if you're getting bad vibes reading this article, maybe you could consider 'weaning' yourself off them? i know its hard, but it can be done. and i promise there are still many awesome deals to be had. hug

That store I had problems with, I got an email today, apologizing for the personnel's behavior, and they will deal with them at the local level. I shouldn't have any more problems there, they told me woot

I went there today, with my envelope full of coupons, $50 in one dollar bills, and scoured the store for their deals on items on sale, and used all my $1 off coupons on their specials, and went through a register where they had to check me out Big Grin Then I slowly paid them in $1 bills laugh out loud I don't get Mad I get even Whee I bought more "sugar" sweeeeeeeettttttttt !!!

Anepu...I don't know if this will help but i did see $1/2 on the single packs of dressing at my grocery store. If you can't find them I can grab you some.

I have crappy grocery stores here too. We do have some super walmarts (30 min drive) so once or twice a month i go and rock out the coupons there. The best I could do at my grocery store was like $105 down to $80 and I think that was only b/c the cashier messed them up lol. Had I of known she was going to be such a tool I would have used more q's lol.

not me. there's just nothing quite like waking up in the middle of the night because your child just barfed everywhere in the bed and on you. run to the bathroom with him, help him finish in the toilet, get everyone scrubbed in the shower, sheets changed, pillowcases swapped..
at least he says, 'mommy, i feel better now.' i certainly hope so, dear one.

aaahhhhhhh..... the joys of parenthood!! bounce

Ha they were 1.00 each at my store, but I ran out of the coupons. I bought 14 bottles and the cashier, said well I guess you have enough for all summer in a smart tone. I smiled and said no, I need to get more! But darn those coupons were on the bottle and they are gone.

Oh, I agree about the great deals to be had without them. I rarely use them and haven't at all recently and still find great deals and have low oop. It's just when I see the Thomas items on clearance and we can no longer use the $5/$25 toy q.....well It is hard to convince myself to buy anything without a coupon! laugh out loud
