I can barely get my dog to do anything without a costco rotisserie chicken as a reward.

Because if you do something you should be doing...you're labeled a hero. Everyone is a hero...that term no longer has meaning...been overused and stuff.

I dont usually get labeled a hero when I take the garbage out or pay the bills. I certainly havent exhausted myself to the point where I died doing it. I personally would consider a dog saving one human life a hero. Let alone seven. And on top of that to give your life to rescue those seven people... Yeah, I am ok with that dog being labeled a hero

Well you're not giving yourself enough credit then. In todays society you are some of the very few.

When that dog was born do you really think it wanted to search for bodies for a living? We trained it to do so. Thousands of hours. That dog didnt get to play with toys...it didnt live a fun loving dog life. If humans want to label it a hero because of all the crap they put it through...whatever makes them feel better about justifying that.

Same goes for bomb dogs, drug dogs, seeing eye dogs, protection dogs, etc etc. The next time you see one take a look at it. Thats not a happy animal. Sorry...its been through thousands of hours being forced to do a few tasks. Awesome huh?
