Speakers for my cell phone

Hi everyone. I would like to admit to you that I am a complete novice at speakers but I am trying to find a good one that I can hook my Galaxy S7 Edge to that can get a quality sound and a pretty loud volume. My fiancee is moving in with me soon and I want it to be a surprise. I have a Jambox by Jawbone that I currently use with my phone but he just laughs at it because it doesn't get the volume he likes. I really only want to spend about $150 on this new speaker but I have no clue where to start. He likes the surround sound speakers in the outdoor kitchen/pool area but it has a receiver out there and I've not about to wire my whole house for him....just sayin'. lol

get 2 UE megabooms. you can pair them together for true stereo sound.

So, your fiancée laughs at it because he doesn't like the speaker sounds? Why don't you tell him to use his money to buy his speakers? If he wants to wire whole house, tell him to do it. Why do you have to waste time asking people on here because it is his problem?

It's not quite as bad as it sounds (I like to think we are both VERY nice people)....he wants to bring this MONSTER stereo set up he has and put it either in the master bedroom that is downstairs or the livingroom. It doesn't FIT. So he talked about him wiring my house with surround sound; at his expense (I really just feel that if it's part of the infrastructure of the house, I should pay for it as I don't want him to leave with it in case of a break up {which I'm sure won't happen}...

I was trying to sell him on the Jambox that I already had and he just started laughing and said there is no comparison to my system (he's heard me use it before)...he likes classic rock played LOUDLY...I like Top 40 rock played semi loudly...lol so my Jambox is fine for me.

It's his birthday next week so I thought I'd ask more knowledgeable people about louder speakers that I might be able to make him happy with that FIT in the house. His MONSTER system is going upstairs in the gameroom, it's just too big, not that I mind the idea of it being in the house. ***I also have an english bulldog named Fred that will just EAT it...lol Pure and simple. The dog has no manners what so ever! laugh out loud

DH got me a Braven a couple of years ago and I've been really pleased with its performance. It was the only reasonable price speaker that has a mid-range on it. Most others only have tweeters and woofers. It's water resistent and pretty tough.

In today's JBL Charge 2 deal thread, one poster said he preferred the JBL Charge 2 over the Braven. I can't agree, since I've never heard the Braven. But I can say, I love my JBL Charge 2. Sound quality is incredible, volume is great, and Bluetooth is easy-peasy.
