Transporting Laptop and Mouse within Office

Okay, this may seem silly at first glance but I'd really appreciate constructive suggestions.

I'm seeking ideas for streamlining the carrying of my laptop and accessories (mouse) to the many daily meetings within my office. Due to a nerve condition, I must use an external mouse. Women's clothes often don't have pockets - add cell phone to the mix. Even within my floor, I'll need to use badge access - so get one hand free for a moment.

I always seem to be dropping my mouse. It's just an awkward size/shape item to cart around.

To actually pack everything up in a laptop bag seems overkill when I'm walking 50 feet for a 15 minute meeting. (Lay flat, unzip, shift permanently stored accessories out of the way, add items, re-zip. Arrive at table, upack....)
  • Is there a mouse that physically attaches to the laptop for transport?
  • Is there any kind of small pouch that could be connected to my laptop to hold the mouse (just for in office, not when packed away, so protruding wouldn't matter.)
  • My fallback would be maybe getting a slim, open tote bag. But something that doesn't look like I'm traveling with luggage or carrying a grocery sack, especially when just going to a colleague's desk.

I've been searching and discovered a no-longer-sold Logitec mouse that had a clip-and-go feature and cool looking "clip mouse [yankodesign.com]" that got some press a few years ago, but doesn't seem to exist now. I'm considering a Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse [amazon.com] which flattens out. At least it would be a better shape for carrying.

Thanks!

Thanks, all! Your responses have been both helpful and entertaining.

Equipment is office-issued. I could buy my own mouse, but the existing laptop is a requirement.

Today I had to go into my "big boss's" office for a quick meeting. Laptop, mouse, pen, printout, coffee cup.

Entered the room, dropped the mouse. Went to pick up the mouse, dropped the papers.. At least it made me come back and check this thread!

I'll try some of your suggestions.

Perhaps a stand up tote bag (the kind that doesn't flop over when you set it down) would be the best solution. You could just reach in and grab each item as you need it. Nothing to unzip and no struggle to stop the bag from flopping over as you pull things out of it.

There are a lot of styles and materials to choose from, this is just to show you what I mean.
