CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called "ExtraCare Bucks" (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as "Free after ECB" – For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money… like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions… then earning more to keep doing the same. It's a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

I buy them all year, when they are on sale. Like a while back, there were $3 coupons for the new Glade candles...Food Lion had them on sale 1/2 off (BOGOF- rings up 1/2 off) so I got a ton free.

I have a whole big box of them but can't use them because of allergies.

Was planning to give them in gift baskets this year but both families decided against exchanging gifts. Just my luck. laugh out loud

A week and a half ago I was asked to send in frozen potato latkes for the school's "christmas around the world" lessons. They weren't used. Mad So I asked where they were being kept so we could taste them at our party on Friday... I found them in a fridge that doesn't go below 60 degrees. Mad Farking waste of $10 AND my time. Ranting It wasn't my kid's teacher. The kids went room to room to learn about different cultures. My friend says her kid didn't get to have any either - so that's $20 down the tubes. AND... I visited the classrooms of the other kinder classes today - the ones in the kinder area. Their damn rooms are more than twice as big as my kid's teacher gets on the 2nd grade hall. It's just farking unfair.

Awww... that sucks. Frown I'm shocked that they would let anything go to waste. If they didn't want to use it, they could've at least called you or shared it amongst the staff..... something. hug

Seriously... I could scream. Or cry. Or both. I'm just sick of it. My kid's preschool class switches rooms 3 x/ year. Why not do that so everyone could have a turn in a non-sucky room? Nope... we're going to leave the older teacher isolated.

Stress Must. Let. It. Go.

At Target, they have these really cute Department 56 ornaments for $8 that say Best Teacher on its wings. The angel is solid white and is holding a bright red apple. I can take a pic of the one I bought if you want to see it. It's way cuter than what I'm making it out to be. nod
They also have the $10 perfume ornaments at Victoria's Secret that are cute teacher gifts. nod
I would love it if you took a picture. Sadly, we don't have a Victoria Secrets here

I got it wrong. It says Tis a gift to teach (which I think is even cuter). Give me a sec. I'll go take a pic and upload it.

One side says "Tis a gift" and the other says "to teach." It hangs from a white ribbon on it's head.

If you do decide to go to Target, they weren't with the other other Christmas ornaments. They were on an end cap across from all of the Xmas stuff. (There are quite a few different ones of these.)

My photograhy skills don't do it justice. laugh out loud I suck at taking close up pics.
