CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called "ExtraCare Bucks" (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as "Free after ECB" – For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money… like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions… then earning more to keep doing the same. It's a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

I have dealt with my fair share of asshat teachers since my kids started school. If my kids have done something wrong I am the one that is pushing for the school to punish them much harder than they originally wanted. But, at the same time, if someone is farking with my kids, WATCH OUT. I've been known to miss class because I was ripping the principal a new asshole Rofl2 I got carried away and lost track of time!

The kid's teacher made my kid feel guilty about eating lunch. Wtf? You guys know all the crap I've been through with her, but wow, I was pissed and so sad that she'd make him feel like that.

On half days, the cafeteria doesn't cook food. The kids can either bring lunch from home or get a bag lunch. To get a bag lunch, they need to send in a form about a week before so enough bags are prepared. I sent in the form the day after I received it.
My kid comes home and tells me that Mrs. blah told him that he didn't send a form in and that it was his fault a 5th grader wouldn't get to eat lunch that day (5th graders eat last and, if they run out of bags, well, you get the idea). Mad I DID send in the form and they make extra bags anyway. No one is going to go hungry and how farking dare you make a 7 year old feel guilty about eating!
How can you hurt a child's feelings like that? He felt SO BAD about eating lunch. Down
fark that noise!

Don't even bother with talking to the teacher go straight to the administrator. That is some major psychological abuse right there. There is no room for that kind of ignorance in the educational system!

Oh and I forgot to ask my mom if they return 'unclaimed' mail after a certain amount of time. She works for the USPS. Methinks if anything they throw it in the circular file if. I'm sure they hold it for her...probably along with the tub of mail that has accumulated as well.

Oh and BG, my mom was telling me she had over 100 packages yesterday in addition to the regular mail...she has over 500 customers. Hats off to all delivery people at this time of year. The volume of mail/packages is insane! Throw in some craptastical weather and for sure you've got a 12 plus hour work day.

This happened 2 weeks ago. I'm just now posting about it because I was that pissed off. I've told the girls here TONS of stuff that's happened between my son and his teacher so I wanted time to cool off before I did anything. Now I know it's too late, but I have this feeling that it won't be long before she does something else.
I hate thinking she targets my son, but I'm sincerely thinking she is. I don't know why. He's VERY active and extremely easily distracted, but he's also incredibly hard working and one of the most compassionate 7 year olds you'll meet.

I can't say if other parents have problems because I don't talk to them outside of school. My son did tell me that his classmate was crying (something happened to her) so my son told his teacher and she told him to go sit down. He came home and told me about it because it bothered him that the teacher didn't even acknowledge his crying classmate. He said he hugged her, but that was the best he could do on his own. Of course I want my kid to help his clasmates, but the teacher could have stepped in so the kids don't get the feeling that the teacher doesn't even care. (That was my son's words, that she didn't even care.)

She seems very nice in person, but my son is seeing and experiencing things that I don't get to see.

Mini's only had 3 bad teachers total. 1 was a complete idiot and liar! In 7th grade the teacher was telling one of the boys to pull up his pants as baggy pants aren't allowed (private Catholic school with uniforms). Kids start laughing and making gangsta jokes. The teacher stops them and proceeds to tell them "that wearing baggy pants originated in prison to show that the inmate was 'available'.". What. The. fark!? Needless to say I went over her stupid ass head and called a meeting with her and the principal without aprising them of the matter at hand. You should have seen her squirm! She flat out lied. Then requested Mini come in the room and confirm my allegations. She led the questioning and mini was so afraid to tell the truth that she went along with what Mrs farkface said...that Mini 'remembered' that conversation wrong and that in fact a boy in the classroom made that statement. I wanted to say, I hope you had a conversation with that boy and his parents Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I was so saddened to see the fear in my kid's eyes and the freaking lump in her throat during the 'questioning'. Administrator stood behind the teacher. He did email me later advising he took care of the situation. Whatever! Mini had a sleepover and I casually, in a round about way brought up that day and 2 other kids told me the same exact thing that Mini originally did. The girls were then laughing about how weird it was that Mrs farkface told them that. Mini learned a valuable lesson that day. Just because they are your teacher, doesn't make them a trustworthy person. Oh and Mini learned what the phrase "thrown under the bus" means.

This year Mini and her Biology techer don't mesh. IDK why. Mini has been on high honor roll since 5th grade and was awarded the Christian student of the year award last year, so it's not like she's a little shit at school. She saves that for home. So, Mini just got her first ever C. It is a C plus so she should be able to raise it 2nd semester. Mini is now learning what the phrase "kill 'em with kindness" means.

Ok so if this is an ongoing dealio...you definitely need to address it. All of it. Document everything and take it with you to the meeting. If you do not get the response you are looking for request another teacher. If that request is not met, then you bet I'd be scheduling a meeting with the Superintendent. YOU are the primary educator of your child, you entrust this teacher with your child under the impression that they will educate them appropriately!

Hi peoples of jennie's thread!

Hey, did you guys see this:

http://portablenorthpole.tv/home/

Someone posted it in Hot Deals but I know some folks never leave the Lounge and wouldn't see it. If you have kids, you might want to make one. My boys are 15 and 12 and they loved it. I put one on each of their FB pages.

I love the "naughty" option. laugh out loud
Oh THANK YOU! This will be perfect for Jack!
