First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.
Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing
The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called "ExtraCare Bucks" (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.
Often, CVS advertises items as "Free after ECB" – For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money… like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.
The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions… then earning more to keep doing the same. It's a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

she's now paranoid of things that happened to friends/family. ie, her hip or knee hurts, and she knows of friends/family who fell and got seriously hurt. so she really doesn't want to walk/risk it. i had to drive her and gramps multiple times to the doc to get him familiar with the roads, and more imporantly her to accept going there. she's quite pissy with forms/new people. with me there she didn't make a scene. how i ended up doing it when i'm rarely there, i have no idea.

My dad has had that too. The choking thing I mean. He's...I think 53 and it was problems with his uvula. They probably would have seen that with your dad if they were checking him out. You never know though I guess. My dad has also gone through times where he loses a ton of weight and you think you could knock him over with a slight wind. However the tests they run on him come back fine, kinda like your dad. Maybe it's just a getting older thing...where it's not anything really bad just things that come with aging.
