CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called "ExtraCare Bucks" (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as "Free after ECB" – For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money… like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions… then earning more to keep doing the same. It's a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

laugh out loud Isn't it terrible? It's like bills.... if I avoid it, maybe it'll go away. laugh out loud

I figure I have 3 weeks to deal with my student loans (they won't start releasing them until next week anyway so I should be fine). I have to go up there Monday to deal with internship crap.
I really do love school, but man I love our breaks, too. My next break isn't until August. EEK! (Spring break doesn't count since it's just a week to play catch up on homework lol)

I'm a murderer Sadwalk I was reaching for something in the spice cupboard and the sea salt grinder fell out, flew across the counter and knocked over D's sea monkeys. Those little suckers spilled all over my counter. Gross. Thankfully, they were still small enough that I couldn't even see them. Now I have to go back to Walgreen's and buy him some new ones (he said I don't have to but I feel badly so I will.)
Comfort Luckily D is understanding and won't turn you in to the authorities.

We just fed our Sea Monkeys for the 2nd time. The package said they can get as big as 1/4 inch. Shocking Eew. They kind of creep me out.

How do you ladies store your ornaments?

I have a storage bin (normal plastic crate) that I store the ornaments in inside of their individual boxes. I'd like to get rid of the boxes, but I'm worried the ornaments may break if I put them in there without the boxes. Nothing goes on top of them and I could put the more fragile ornaments on top of the sturdier ones, but they're all glass.
I can place a tree skirt in between a few of the layers, but I don't know if it'll cover all of them.
Should I just keep the damn boxes? Any suggestions?

I have a box from DH's office that is used to ship glass bottles. It's got cardboard dividers. I've seen divided ornament boxes - I'd like one of those someday.

I looked at some of those and they were too expensive atm. I'd need at least 3 to store everything I have. Hmmm.....

We wrap each ornament in tissue paper (stock up after it goes on clearance), then I put a layer of them in the bin (large Rubbermaid box), lay a piece of sturdy cardboard (cut from an old box) on top of that, then another layer of wrapped ornaments, another piece of cardboard....... and so on.

I've been doing this for about 10 years and haven't had any broken ornaments. Well ... until the kids get ahold of them. But that's a whole different story. Stick Out Tongue

Oh, cool. Thanks! I can do the cut up boxes. (The tissue is a bit more than I have patience for laugh out loud)

I'll try that and see how it works.

Be sure to pad the inside bottom of the box before the first layer goes down so if it gets dropped, the impact doesn't break the ornaments.

And you don't need patience for the tissue paper ... you need children that are old enough to do it for you. laugh out loud
