Not sure if it tastes the same or not, but Barq's [barqs.com] has a Red Cream Soda. I had some at the Coca-Cola Museum in downtown Atlanta. It was pretty good. I've never actually seen it in the stores though, but I assume they sell it somewhere.

There's also Big Red Soda [bigredltd.com]. It's a red cream soda. We can easily find that in the stores.
You are right, Barq's is the closest I've found, but since Fanta red cream has been discontinued long enough it's hard to compare current drinks with a "memory" you had as a child. Plus I always had Fanta out of a glass bottle which imo > can.

Come to think of it, all my school teachers really liked Fanta too, but I guess they didn't want any of us kids to know because they always hid it in brown paper bags. Interesting.

Anyone remember Original New York Seltzer [bevnet.com]? I remember getting that as a kid. From what I remembered I liked it.

AFAIK McDonalds doesnt deep fry their pies anymore.
They are baked.
Yes, that we all know. But apparently, some locations in the U.S. do still offer the fried apple pies. I haven't seen it, but that's what I hear.

By the way, KFC still sells them as apple turnovers.

My McDonald's has both the cherry and apple pies. In the fall, we get pumpkin pies as well!

Must be an Eastcoast thing. LOL, they still make Count Chocula, Frankenberry, etc. I have some in my cupboard! I also see Mondo drinks everywhere around here in the regular grocery stores.

I miss Bar None candy bars. I remember buying them to save up the points. I ended up getting a Scared Guy State t-shirt.

Who remembers Holiday Spice Pepsi from a couple of years back? It really did taste like Christmas!
Are the pies at the McD's near you baked or fried? Cuz, we're talking about the fried pies........heaven, I tell you!Smilie

Well I know that Fanta and Barq's are both Coca-Cola companies. Wasn't sure if maybe it was the same product w/ just a different name. I read here [bevnet.com] that Canada has a Fanta Red Creme soda and someone claims it tastes the same as the Barq's Red Creme Soda.

I was also thinking that it might not taste the same as back when you were a child because they probably still used real sugar back then, not this high fructose corn syrup that use nowadays.

Fanta also has a Birch Beer which is pretty good. I've only been able to get that at the Philly Connection [phillyconnection.com] restaurants...oh and at The World of Coca-Cola Museum [woccatlanta.com] in Atlanta. They have an area in the museum where you can try samples of like 60 different Coca-Cola products from all over the world.

Southwest chicken sandwich from Whataburger. I think it was with 1000 island dressing, bacon and some kind of cheese.

The Pitas from Wendy's. BEST MENU ITEM EVER. My mom used to bring them to me on Fridays in elementary school as a treat. Chicken Caesar Pita with a Biggie Diet Coke FTW!

Chocolate Lasagna from Olive Garden... why did they have to replace the best dessert ever with sugar free crap?

Planter's Cheese Balls. Holy crap. Those were the best snack ever.

Wonka Exploder Bar. I split one of these everyday my freshman year of high school with my friends. Pop rocks in a chocolate bar... YUM.

Crispy M&Ms. The mint crisp ones they put out this summer were like them... but damn, those are the only M&Ms I'll eat!

I agree with aenima49. My family just loved 123 jello and bought lots of it and it's gone, gone, gone.

I miss the Taco Lite from Taco Bell.
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taco_Bell

"In the early-1990s, Taco Bell changed its menu due to pressure concerning the nutritional value of items labeled "Lite". It was believed the term lite was vague or possibly deceptive. Many items were dropped entirely from the menu, such as the "Taco Lite", a fried flour tortilla shell with lean beef, fat free sour cream, lettuce, reduced fat cheese, and tomatoes. Some items were altered to change the nutritional values, such as the removal of black olives from the list of ingredients, in an effort to reduce sodium."

And the original Cinnamon Crispas!!
"Cinnamon Crispas, triangular fried flour tortilla shells, were offered until being replaced by Cinnamon Twists"
They stopped making these in the late '80s Mad
