Pop Tarts Frosted Apple

I havent seen them lately and just confirmed they have been discontinued.

That sucks. Top 3 flavor they had.
They try to pass off their frosted apple strudel flavor as a comparable product, but the frosted apple was much better!

There was a chocolate dipped fudge wafer ( like sugar wafers, but covered in chocolate, and the filling was peanut butter ) back about 10 years ago. They were little bite sized cookies, sort of square in shape, not in long sticks, a big bunch just poured loose into a plastic ( coated type ) bag and the bag was in a bright yellow box. I lived in another state for a while and when I came back to SC , the store where I usually bought them had stopped selling them. ( they were sold at Ingles Markets) I tried all the local grocery stores and also Walmart, Target, and KMart. Searched online, too, but no luck. Thought the brand was Murray's as they were pretty cheap, but checking the company site, they didn't have anything that resembled them or the color of the box. ( Box was similar to a Nabisco Nilla Vanilla wafer box in size and shape )

I tried several different brands of wafer style cookies coated in chocolate, although none of them were bite sized pieces, and even one or more that were peanut butter filled. None tasted the same.

I would kill for some of those little cookies. drool

Would also like to find Dean's Green Onion Dip ( not French Onion, which is sold everywhere here ) and also would love to find some French's Sweet & Zesty Mustard ( formerly called French's Sweet Onion Mustard) without having to order 12 of them at a time from Amazon. It's sold in grocery stores in Canada still and is still called Sweet Onion Mustard, but no grocery store here carries either one.

My Mom kept a list of foods that had been discontinued that she loved. When she passed away recently, I found the list and kept it. On it was:

Oscar Mayer Ham Steaks
French's Sweet Onion Mustard
Betty Crocker Noodles Romanoff
7 Up candy bar
Nabisco Hammies snack crackers
Mounds Pina Colada candy bar
Chipsters ( think they were made by Nabisco or Keebler ) but her list doesn't say
Jello Pudding Pops
Brach's chocolate covered orange sticks
( canned ) Boston Brown bread ( B & M )
Hamwitches ( she had Hormel and ? out to the side of this one )
Romeo's Hearty Jewish Rye bread ( think it was sold in the North, maybe Mass. )
French's still sells their Sweet Onion Mustard, but only in Canada. I never cared for the taste of it, but a lot of people were die hard fans of it, especially on burgers.

In my quest to find a recipe similar to the Betty Crocker Noodles Romanoff, I found this copycat recipe awhile back, and it is really a very close substitute! - http://www.recipesecrets.net/foru...ecipe.html

I LOVED Jello Pudding Pops, I had a maker and everything, they rocked!

What a fantastic list of products from the past!

Meh, I didn't bother to go look. Didn't need anything from the grocery store. Can't eat Twinkies or Suzy Q's with the low carb diet and I'm too lazy to sell them on ebay.

A heads up for everyone. When Hometown Favorites first started out they mainly had hard to find candies. Well, I was doing a search last night for chili blend and their website was on the search results. They have all sorts of grocery items now, such as the monster cereals (Booberry, Count Chocula, Frankenberry), Libby's Country Sausage Gravy, LaChoy Chow Mein (haven't seen that in years), Kraft Spaghetti Classics kit, etc.

FWIW, I bought some candy from them years ago and had no problems with the order or the service. Haven't bought anything in a long while simply because I'm not a big candy eater and didn't know they had added groceries.

Job Lot in New England states sells the La Chow Chow Mein.

Has anyone heard of Bubble Burgers? Guy in work said they were the best. Think it was in the 80s.

laugh out loud Sorry!

There's an imported food store on Bainbridge Island, in Polusbo that has tons of different kinds of licorice from Europe. I've never seen so many varieties and styles, they easily have over 100 different licorice. But their shipping is high, I only buy stuff there when we drive over.

Sadwalk vacation plans may have to include a visit to Bainbridge Island (I love the Rheila candy they have on sale right now). But on a happier note, I realized that amazon has stocked up on some of my favorite varieties and I had forgotten about a bunch of amazon GCs, so an order will be placed soon. woot
