There is one busy gas station that is nearest to me, but the chubby, curly-hair kid-face person (nothing cute in that descriptions) there is a stick-in-the-mud. One friendly gal told to help myself, and he turned around to argue with her. I was there at 9am Monday and the papers get picked up at around 11 am. Then, he had the gall to tell me to come back after 1 pm. Mad Just say "no". Why bother with a white lie?
I agree - why lie??? I have had no luck with any gas station or store here - they all say NO! They also lock up their dumpsters - greedy gerbils that they are!!!

I think it sounds great - I really like that you went back to make sure the kid was ok! Too many people do not think about the cashiers/employees ... you rock! Glad you got your furniture too!!!!

Thanks! We're pretty happy with it. Set it all up on the porch. It's really nice if anyone is looking for a new set. Hopefully the 75% off will be this week since they should be clearing it out for school supplies. You'll get an ever better deal.
As for the kid, it was sad!! He literally was shaking in his boots. He's worked there for a while and I think sometimes their "talks" scare them more than is necessary. Kind of like with the coupons. Instead of telling them to be diligent, they sound like they threaten their jobs. No wonder they freak out! It's all really unnecessary.

Oh no!! I am so sorry!!! You and your lil guy are in my thoughts --- I am sending GET WELL vibes!!!! Poor sweetie - and it is hard on Mum too!!! HUGS HUGS HUGS

I am sorry to hear about your brakes! Can't your bro help you replace them yourselves? Replacing brakes is pretty easy (albeit rusty and dirty work) and cheaper if you do it yourself. It sucks when you have to spend lots of money on a car ... I always feel as if it is throwing away $$$.

LOL I am sorry I had to laugh about your student ID comment - I went to college late cause of the kids - in fact just recently finished my Bach and I probably look old enough to be your Mum LOL Please don't take offense I just thought your comment was funny!!!

I hope you have a better week next week!!!!

I was hoping and praying I could wait on the brakes until I went to Chicago to visit fam in a couple of weeks, but there was no way I could drive 6 hours with dd on those brakes, I was freakin about driving around town lol.

Yea, i should have put a disclaimer on my comment about the student id's. We get legit older people all the time with valid id's and they also have no problems showing it, it's the jerks trying to use id's from 3-6 years ago that drives me crazy. Two examples:

The 40 y/o guy who handed me his ALUMNI i.d.....I was like uhhhhh you're not a student anymore dude lol.

The 40ish chick yesterday who handed me her i.d. from 2005...I said umh sorry ma'am it has to be a valid i.d.. She said what do you mean?? I said it has to be current and have the current sticker (community college here puts a new sticker on every semester.)....mind you none of the stickers since 2005 are on there and she tells me the sticker must have fell off and proceeds to go through her wallet for the non-existent sticker for 4 minutes. I know this may sound bitchy...normally I would have given her the freakin dollar discount, but come on if i catch you in a freakin lie just own up to it and don't try and bullshit me for 4 minutes. I try really hard to be nice and have great customer service but yesterday was freakin ridiculous!!!

I had a 19 y/o kid get pissy and tell me it was ridiculous we wouldn't sell him a ticket to an r rated movie b/c he left his i.d. at home....after being told for the 3rd time that it was ridiculous, I finally just told him that it was ridiculous a 19 y/o would leave home without his i.d. lol.

Thank you everyone for your offer of q's, I really appreciate it!! I did some paper recycle bin searching tonight and found some old inserts, no p&g though. I'm hoping people just haven't recycled them yet lol.

Thanks for link... thought I would highlight some especially interesting info:
Amid soaring fuel costs and a housing and credit crisis, Americans last year halted a 16-year trend of declining redemptions by turning in 2.6 billion manufacturers' coupons, according to CMS Inc., a coupon processing agent and promotions logistics service based in Winston-Salem, N.C. That marked the first year since 1992, when nearly 8 billion coupons were used, that redemptions had not fallen.

CMS says historical trends show that coupon redemption rates rise when prices and unemployment are going up, so more coupon use is expected this year.
See, despite all our SDing efforts, we're still down almost a quarter from '92 couponing levels. Come on, now! I know we can do better! Big Grin

Article quotes the chick from TGG. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I'm all for making a buck, but why in the world would anyone *pay* to join a program that doesn't offer a fraction of the free SDs available? Dontknow Crazy

The article closes w/this:
She began buying the Sunday newspaper for coupons, and keeps them in baseball card sheets. Then she looks for online coupons, checking out blogs and sites devoted to coupon deals. She usually is able to cut her grocery bill by at least 25 percent -- in a recent trip, a $135 total shrank to $79 after she used her coupons.

Silly newbie. Evillaugh

(j/k! hug)

Thanks to all who sent good wishes wrt my Target organizers. Thankfully, not all is lost. I hadn't updated it in awhile, so it's not a complete loss. I still might be able to find it. In all honesty, I still haven't really tried that hard yet. laugh out loud Btw new job, home, CVS (damn expiring ECBs! :rantSmilie --- and mandatory reading/chatting on SD, I'm exhausted. ZzZZz

But there's still P&Gs to be cut.... Cool

Cool
Rofl2 I was cleaning out my purse and looking through old receipts last night, and was laughing at myself as I watched the totals on my receipts shrink throughout the months from when I first started Targeting. It was quite humorous to see the totals in the beginning compared the totals now. The totals are about the same, but the totals now also include those lovely paid for GC's that will pay for my Christmas shopping. Quite a difference! Cool

Thanks for the laugh and reminding me of the same. Smilie
I remember last year telling DH, "See....I just saved 20%......that's really great....." and now......well.......spending 20% of my total is the goal (or less)

I know, I don't get it. It's on sale for $3 next week so that's .75 for it. I guess that's a good deal

Probably because the product often is often on sale for 2.50

I know I stocked up a few months back with a similar deal Smilie

hmm so I went to the electrasol website... and it isn't called that anymore - "finish - the new name for electrasol"

In the FAQ section...
Is FINISH the same as ELECTRASOL and JET-DRY?

FINISH products are the same ELECTRASOL and JET-DRY products that you know and trust, now backed by the power of the world's #1 dishwashing brand.

Anyways to answer your question - I've used both cascade and electrasol... I like electrasol bette as it's easier for us to use the little blocks of stuff and not worry about spilling a box of cascade (which I have been known to do once or twice laugh out loud ). The kind with Jet-Dry with it seems to help cut down on the glass cloudiness which is nice.
