Oh, and I haven't been on for a few days, seriously fighting a computer addiction, so I am on only 2-3 days a week vs the everyday all day from before my trip.

Double sided so glad you figured out what was wrong with your son and will pray you find a financial solution to the supplies you need!

Thanks wherever posted about the borders q here, I used it this morning and spent $47 but saved $80 and got free shipping this saves me gasBig Grin, ordered all the Life of Faith books that we don't already have for 1.99- 2.99 after the q, YAY these books are normally only found at the christian book store in my area for 9.99-12.99. Plus some American Girl books that have been hard to find in the store. Again YAY.

Will try to get to Target tonight or tomorrow. I'm not adding my Ca savings at Target to my total because I donating all the items I got free to my mom and SIL. I didn't bring any of it home with me. Did hit the kids clearance clothes and did pretty good.

Brought a Ragdoll Kitten home with me from a breeder in Ca, went to Petsmart yesterday and spent a huge amoutn, but did find a MIR for my cat food, so will get that for free, plus got a coupon for $4 off that I will use on my next trip, forgot my $8 off coupon, or at least couldn't locate it while in the store, don't you hate when that happens!
which borders coupon code did you use? i tried yesterday and the site said the code was expired. is there more than one code? will check again..

Anyone have splenda q's from smartsource 6/8 to spare? Appears I already traded them or didn't get them. Who knew I'd need splenda. Thanks. EDIT-I WILL BE SWIMMING IN SPLENDA NOW THANKS TO YOU GUYS, THAT WAS FAST. I THINK I'LL BE GOOD WITH THE ONES COMING

Oh and DH wants to know the address of whoever told me that we had to take batteries out of toys. We spent about 2 hours doing that earlier, barely made a dent. The good news is, we are definitely set on christmas and bday for next 2 years so that will be one less strain.

I found a pile of uncle bens coupons here if anyone needs them. I was collecting them before the rice a roni deal at my local grocery store. Some are $1/3, some are $1/2. I also have some of those 2.50 bayer heart advantage. Can't guarantee a fast PM answer but I will get to it when I can. Kid is taking a break right now.

We may be admitted again tomorrow. We'll see. This time I'm bringing deodorant just in case. I stunk by the time I left yesterday.

I only have 2 but they are coming your way along with 3 of the One Touch from today. I wish I had more to send but I will keep my eye out for more. I found another pull-ups today too. It's not much but it's all I have. Something tells me there will be lots more coming your way from the folks here.

Hugs to you and your family. hug

Thanks Kat! Two will work! We cook a lot even thought it's not very good but we use a LOT of sugar. Will have to clearly tone that down. Appreciate it!!!!

And we're going to use the extra coupons to buy spare meeters, with or without WAGS overage. Every time I register one I get 20 free lancets. And it's good to have the spares in various places. I'll log back on tonight to see if SD59 was successful at WAGS. It's pouring rain here and the baby is only catnapping so can't run out now. Probably will be tomorrow before we take him back in if I can find time.

I can't keep up with the PM's, thanks again for all the support everyone. You ladies are all fantastic, especially the ones who have diabetic kids. Makes me feel less alone.

I wonder if there's a high divorce rate for parents of kids with diabetes. Since the diagnosis, I want to hang DH from our tree in the yard that's about to topple over.

Ok so I am kinda out of the loop on diabetic testing supplies but... Is there a huge difference between the One Touch and the Contour meters? If you are able to use them the Ascensia Contour meters come with lancets and 10 test strips and are FREE after coupons.

Hey if any of you with diabetic kids or are diabetics yourselves have some good recipes for simple foods, please PM me. Dizzy from looking up all this stuff online, too much info overload. Logging off now to go fill out the forms from Teri037's post. I'm skeptical if we'd qualify since technically we have health insurance but it's worth it to bring to doc and find out.

Double, if you haven't already, check the Splenda website. They have recipes, even have a kids section. Looks like some pretty good ones too.

Double ~ ok, not sure how ethical this is, but here goes (by the way, I have no problem with it)
I finally got in touch with a friend of mine who works at a local nursing home. I usually donate my meters there.

She said usually when an elderly person is "bad off", they stop making them test their sugar. Why poke at their tender skin anymore than necessary, especially since they are in the last days of their life? Most patients have insurance and extra strips. The families could care less what happens to those things once the person has passed.

So, my friend has been taking them and trading them for items that the UNINSURED patients families may need. Our local CVS is really nice and if it is unopened, they let her exchange it for equal or lesser value strips. In return she sends tons of business to them.

The deal is... either she has some unopened, unexpired boxes or she can get you some. I asked her would she be willing to outright sell them or exchange for something.

Here is what she proposed (not sure if this will work since you may need receipts for insurance purposes) let her know a fair price for a purchase OR she is willing to trade gift cards. The nursing home is always in need of socks for some reason. Apparently most patients are forgotten about by their families. She buys them funky socks to lift their spirits. There is some sort of tax write off for what she does I think.

Anyway, just wanted to pitch that deal to you. What would you consider to be a fair price for strips and do you want to trade any GC's to save your cash?
She said she does not want to rip you off, thats why she doesnt sell them on ebay, but wanted to know what you felt was a good deal.

PS~ I will ship them to you for free. Just my random act of kindness. Maybe good Karma will come back to me one day Wink Plus, the strips cant be that big of a package.

ETA - I got a monitor today. I am going to donate it if you have plenty. If anyone else needs one, just PM me. I wont donate until tomorrow. AND - If you decide to do this, I will get a few from her and I will owe her. That way you dont have to send anything this way until you get your strips.

My daughter (4) hates this toothpaste too. Have you tasted it? It is minty and kind of strong for little ones. Try the Colgate for kids in the stand up tube. It's not as strong or as minty tasting. We have the Bratz one right now and it's bubblegum flavor. I don't think the Oral B for kids is as strong either.

Is there a reason you are instant on fluoride toothpaste? I personally use Tom's of Main kids strawberry toothpaste for both my girls ages 3 and 7. They both love this toothpaste.

i thought you are supposed to use fluoride free toothpaste for kids..at what age do you change to regular toothpaste...

I'm not sure if there's a specific age.. but kids can use reg toothpaste when they're old enough not to swallow it. (fluoride free toothpaste won't hurt them, which is why its recommended for younger kiddos who don't yet know not to swallow it)
