This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Trust me, they are most likely aware of the cpn. If they have figured out how to code cpns to expire, they should be able to take this one out of the system as well.

May none of you ever be a newbie anywhere ever again.
I've never used it....and did you not read what was just posted? Just a couple of weeks ago a man was arrested for using altered q's...keep on using them and we'll be reading about you in the news.

Yep, never used it either. And if someone chooses to use it, it's their choice, BUT at least have the courtesy of following the rules sd has put in place and not discuss it. Oh and just an fyi...T took that q off their site and replaced it with a correctly coded one when the error happened, it has only been kept in circulation through other people...so don't use that excuse.

Oh and if I am ever a newbie somewhere I hope and pray I have enough common sense to follow the rules and use my brain.

I don't think anyone is saying they have ALL newbies pegged. It is very possible for someone to be a newbie here who has tons of experience at another site. And yes, it could be true that someone who is new here is someone who started a new account, although from what I hear the mods monitor that quite a bit.

Some of the ones you mention were very helpful to the community as a whole, but I can promise you this, when I started out reading the Target thread, the group was MUCH harder than what you see now. There are many posts there now that would NEVER have been allowed for under the group that was 'ruling the thread' back then. And there wasn't near as nice of a chat group then either.
They do monitor that as we all know. IP pinging is a wonderful thing. Old users that have been banned long ago try and open new acounts and they get most of them. nod Now if it's someone that chooses to open a new account on their own that's a little different. But we are only supposed to have one active SN. We can be banned for having more than one. Not worth it to meshake head

We have lost some wonderful contributors. I agree with you S'Momma about the old group versus the new. The thread months ago was strictly deals no OT at all. Best thing for the n00bs is to read and contribute what they can. Not take offense if someone won't answer a PM. Afterall do we really know if they are a Red or not shake head

Didn't the comment about the spicy raise any red flags to anyone? How would a n00b get that TQ without someone's help?

BTW: Did you get your JJ coupons S'Momma?

Ok...sknsam I hope you don't mind me using you as an example...it's in a good way I promise!

But skynsam is a relatively new name to me and is the quintessential newbie. She contributes, she is friendly, she asks educated questions, and she reads.

i'm giving you the newbie of the month award lol.

If more people were like her we wouldn't have to have these discussion every freakin week. I know I should take the high road and ignore the comments, but come on, I don't really think anyone is being elitist and asking for all that much of newbies.
LMAO First, I'd like to thank the Academy of Target addicts. I will accept this award in honor of the fallen Target thread greats, who apparently all have new names!

I read 100s of target thread pages before I dared to do a run. I was a lurker in the chat thread for about a month - now I feel more comfortable here, I like you people Smilie

I like a bunch of their flavors, even with coupons I'd take their generic stuff over something like Edy's! lol

In the main thread someone said it's deducting the correct amount now. Maybe an update that downloaded overnight?

no. NOT everyone uses it. most do not. but if you want to continue putting yourself at risk - go right ahead. don't blame us for not warning you.

Yea...I wondered about that...but don't you think some of the older thread greats that moved on would know better than to post that in a public forum and have such a blatant disregard for the rules and common sense really?

LOL probably b/c it was used 10 bajillion times in one weekend Smilie

That's the great part about the current crowd, no one is trying to rule the thread. That is the main difference from before. Heck, I knew folks that really had 'balls' when it came to bravery that wouldn't post in the Target thread back then (myself included).

Congrats!!! I hope you feel better soon. My 1st & 2nd pregnancies I was never sick a day. I actually remember saying I think morning sickness is just in peoples heads. Boy was I wrong, with #3 I was sick all day for 4 months!! Congrats again!
All I ate for almost 8 weeks was cheese nips. Once I got past that, I couldn't eat a cheese nip for almost 2 years! laugh out loud

Regarding the earlier post re: that red stuff, don't be surprised if some posts disappear pretty quickly. Since that is an OT, not allowed discussion issue, I shot the mods an alert to keep us clean.

Thanks for the JJ coupons! hug You are a dear!!! Had to go find a post where I could rep you for the RAOK!

Oh, and chocolate peanut butter ice cream sounds yummy! yummy

Hey y'all. No time to catch up on posts but here's our scoop. DS was not admitted but his sugars are still really high, the last reading actually said "Hi" instead of a reading. They want us to up the insulin and call them on Wed. Oh and make him eat, no easy feat for a toddler. They gave us a couple of weeks worth of supplies and said their financial person will call us tomorrow.

They did say to stick with the one touch as it has the lowest insurance copays for when our plan improves and requires the least amount of blood. So no go on the contour. But here's the weird part. I got a spare monitor and it had 10 sample test strips in it. So some of these one touch monitors must have the test strips and some don't but it says it on top of the box that it includes it. So still soliciting one touch MFQ.

We stopped at T on way home to get applesauce for the baby as that's a staple these days and we priced the supplies. Not bad if there are decent overages in August. Told DH I need to live at Target tomorrow and Wed after work to finish up always and FF and get some of our supplies in. They have a small box of strips which economically works out higher than the bigger boxes but will be easier to cover in a run $28 for 25 strips. The lancets and ketone strips are both under $20. So will take a LOT of runs but could get some stuff covered at Target unless there's another big scare.

Crazy thing about the syringes is that my local CVS is having the hardest time getting them. The hospital gave us enough for 2 more days but their special order came in wrong and they had to reorder today. Weird.

I couldn't sleep last night and tried that borders thing, no go for me. The poor kid is just not right, they said it could be a long couple of weeks until they figure out the correct insulin dosage.

Im a newbie and im proud of it... I am still a little leery on posting sometimes but try to help some if I know the answer to some of the questions posted. I have read pages and pages of the Target Deals Thread and whenever I don't understand something, I just PM the OP. If I don't get a reply, I sometimes feel bad but just let it go. I just PM another person hoping I get an answer. There are so many people here who are so helpful specially about questions on some of the deals. I don't go to target too much, just once a week for our grocery needs. Devilmomma was one of the first people who replied to me via PM and she was really really nice. Gave me tons of advice and made me feel so welcome Smilie Jen2882, Pretzels, Jeffshere, Mamajayjay and so many many others have helped me a lot too. I think the key is just to keep reading and we will learnSmilie
