So I can't sleep as now I'm worried this educator nutrition lady is killing my kid so I need to stay awake in case he needs me. I called the doc on call and they did tell us to give him too many carbs. WTF, he's 18 months old, not like he can tell us what's going on. Going to try to get in somewhere else for second opinion tomorrow.
So trying to do this borders thing. Holy cow, is their site slow.
Are potatoes good for him to have...can you get him to eat mashed potatoes?

I questioned them earlier today and they said this is the way it should be right now. It was eating at me today and I PM'd a couple of people when I got back home that have been helping me out this week. But then I talked to this lady who is giving us a swingset (long story) and she's a scientist and I mentioned what was going on as we're trying to organize a pickup date and she freaked about all the carbs. So that got me calling the doc on call again. thank god. You know, these people are crazy. It's not their kid they're experimenting with. I'm sick with worry that he's going to wind up in a coma in his sleep and I can't sleep so I sit here trying to find alternatives on what to do and all the while they've been messing him up more.
We're going to raise insulin tomm morning, lower tomorrow night and give him more foods during day and less at night and see what that does. And I'm going to call and see if I can get him into Yale tomorrow. Worse case, we'll call a frickin ambulance and have him carted down there. I just don't want him to be traumatized any more though,he was absolutely terrified at the other hospital, I hope they just agree to an office visit for a second opinion.

My all time, hands down, favorite ice cream. I eat a container in about 2-3 days.
LOVE it.
Alright, did we get
I thought I would read chit-chat 1st b/c it's shorter, but came back to 4 pages.
I only posted on the Target thread once I could provide some type of helpful info. But I went out of my way a few times to look for something someone had asked about - prices, availability, sizing - so I could offer up a useful post or two here. I did not want to be someone who just 'took' and gave nothing back.
Also, when I couldn't figure out a deal, I just didn't do it. I decided that if I wasn't smart enough to figure it out by reading along, I didn't have any business going into a Target and attempting the deal, as that might just screw it up for others. I truly wonder how many of the things that have happened over the last few months were due to those who were overzealous and couldn't be happy with a 'great' deal.
They did say to stick with the one touch as it has the lowest insurance copays for when our plan improves and requires the least amount of blood. So no go on the contour. But here's the weird part. I got a spare monitor and it had 10 sample test strips in it. So some of these one touch monitors must have the test strips and some don't but it says it on top of the box that it includes it. So still soliciting one touch MFQ.
We stopped at T on way home to get applesauce for the baby as that's a staple these days and we priced the supplies. Not bad if there are decent overages in August. Told DH I need to live at Target tomorrow and Wed after work to finish up always and FF and get some of our supplies in. They have a small box of strips which economically works out higher than the bigger boxes but will be easier to cover in a run $28 for 25 strips. The lancets and ketone strips are both under $20. So will take a LOT of runs but could get some stuff covered at Target unless there's another big scare.
Crazy thing about the syringes is that my local CVS is having the hardest time getting them. The hospital gave us enough for 2 more days but their special order came in wrong and they had to reorder today. Weird.
I couldn't sleep last night and tried that borders thing, no go for me. The poor kid is just not right, they said it could be a long couple of weeks until they figure out the correct insulin dosage.
On the bricks coupons. Some manufacurers will mail them and some choose not to. I've never had any luck getting duplicates unles I rewuest them on different days. Even then sometimes they don't show up. When they do mail them they show up fast.
CONGRATS to all the preggers!!!! I'm NOT drinking the SD water. Please don't send that trade my way.
BTW~ I didn't order yet, since I am trying to figure out the details still, but I just wanted to share that.
