We don't have any soda stocked at our house since my stockpiles of Powerade, Sobe, Gatorade, Dasani, and Aquafina Plus.

After not drinking soda for a while, you lose the cravings. All those sugar...

I'm not doing the sobe deal this week. Sure I could have traded for the q's but just not in mood for GC deal right now. Too much work. Will head there sometime this week for a few rubbermaid totes and maybe those disney CD's. That's all I saw. I have to pick up some cotton balls and a few other random things as well.

I've got too much on my plate with the kid. I just spent past hour typing up all his meals, numbers and stuff. Boy did we screw up earlier this week. I've got an iron clad schedule starting tomorrow and the two boys are going to stick to it or else

Someone suggested just calling Abbott and they'll probably send me a freestyle to try. I don't mind the onetouch and with the strip situation, I already have a "few" and more on the way but if this one is easier, I'd love to just use it in mornings. That is the worst time to get blood out of him. And then we can try all 3 and see which one we like best. We went through 10 strips today alone (testing upped to 6x a day) so my stash will only last a month and a half, 2 months at best. Would be nice to be able to use one of the other 2 as backup but they told me not to switch around. I wonder why

Tired and sneezy, going to bed. Screw the sunoco guy, sorry to the folks I usually trade with, I'm just too tired to wait up for the extra inserts.

I need to buy Jello. Can't believe I traded all my Jello coupons. Which reminds me, tomorrow I'm going to post a list of all the piles of coupons I have here. Must get rid of some paper.

Trang or someone else--anyone have a freestyle meter lying around that you can send me? These forum peeps are saying it takes less time/blood. I will continue on the one touch for a while as that's what my doc office wants us to do but I want to at least try it and see if there's a difference.

I'm thinkin it's all the same, the kid/person is the difference
There ARE meters/strips that take smaller amounts of blood and have a faster reading time..the Accuchek I have takes VERY little blood and is almost instant...try the Freestyle and see how it goes...then tell doc if it works better for you...its about making your life easier not the docs...no "medical" reason to use one brand over the others...its about cost and convenience..IMO...

Thank you so much Teri for looking for me. That was very nice of you!

Sam, I can send you the Q if you want. I have the Contour meter that Target still has for $18.98. The Contour meter is the one with the free 10 strips in the box. Depending on your cashier, you may even get overage with the $30 Q. Pretzels got it everytime. Not me. Frown
Now those q's I can hook you up with!

Do different meters give different readings? That's the only reason I could think of that you would need to stick to the One Touch. I think it's more like the other poster said...the doc gets kick backs (reward points) for promoting there meters.

Well, they do get incentives but I think the reason for using one type only is for consistency. Each meter should read the same levels, but may not. I would do a testing back to back, using both meters. If you get the same reading from both, then use both. But if you see a varience between the two..just use one or the other. Six testings a day. Must be tough on him and you, not to mention expensive. Hope it gets better soon!

Double, you sound exhausted. Hope you get some good rest.

I agree Trang, thats why I hide the SOBE for me! All the soft drinks in the house are diet, but I think the juices are the most sugary of them all! BTW...how many Sobes did you get today?

laugh out loud The only intervention I need is for my shopping and Dr. Pepper addictions laugh out loud It has been almost three months, but up until last week I was being treated by the company dr. who didn't do anything but prescribe meds. Not even xrays or anything EEK! So I finally got myself into an independent dr (not paid by my workplace) and now I finally am getting some treatment! Amazing what can happen when you switch to an independent dr, huh! Hopefully this new dr will have me up and running (maybe even literally) in no time bounce
