Oh, does anyone have experience shopping at Ulta, a beauty supply store? We just had one open up near us, and want to know the best way to work the deals... Smilie I'm pretty sure they accept MFQs, plus the ad has a $3.50/$10 purchase.
After actively shopping at the likes of Target, CVS and Walgreens, you'll find there's not much Ulta has that ends up being a better deal than you can get at one of those three. I used to always use the $3.50/$10 coupon they put out, but now only find something worthwhile there about one out of every three times. They do sometimes have some promo things that are great deals. Walk the store and see for yourself.

Also, I don't remember them taking manu q's, but I'm not positive.

Quote from sillygeese :
I know I have an addiction! I volunteered this year to be the Angel tree shopper for school. I get to buy toys for 30-40 kids using someone else's money! How awesome is that! I will be limited to what the kids at school collect, but I will totally have fun figuring out how to get the most from the funds I get!

AS for where to stash things, I have no spare rooms, and no basement, living in TX the attic really is not good storage, gets way to hot up there, so best I can do is toilet paper in the garage, we no longer have dipers YAY, lets see, razors, toothbrushes, bandaids, panty liners and pads those are garage storage.
Cat and Dog food go in the front hall closet, shampoo/body wash/hair stylers in the bathroom under the sinks.

I am not full yet, so we will see from there. I have donated all the toothpaste that we won't use, brands I got for free or got paid to take.
LOVE being the angel tree shopper! I used to do that for work all the time.

And for stashing stuff, DH put up 3 sets of shelves in the garage. Each holds 1400 lbs and is huge! He's putting up 3 more next weekend, I am so excited.

Oh yes, and we live in Tx, pretty near you, and I put most everything in the garage. Of course, not food or candy, but most personal products.

Quote from muffintop :
My DH is giving me a hard time with my stockpiles.. He wants me to quit shopping

How do you sell stuff to coworker and friends if they know you are gettng them practically free?
My DH was the same way until I've started showing him what I can get. For example, we needed some pet stuff that has no q's. Total for it all was $29, and T was the cheapest place to get it. So I went there with coupons for tons of other stuff. Ended up spending $43 for almost $150 of stuff and got back $10 in gc. So for $4 more than I would have spent if I just bought what we really 'needed', I got tons of other stuff.

I do struggle with the 'how do you sell stuff to friends'. I have friends who don't work and whose husbands probably make 2 - 5 times what DH & I make combined. They are so nice, & not stuck up or conceited about the money at all. When they come over, though, they almost always leave with about $25 worth of stuff. Yes, I give it to them, and yes, they know I didn't spend anything on it, but it would be nice to 'get' something in return once in awhile.

The mom of a girl on DD's softball team told me I should bring all my excess out and let them all buy from me for $1 an item, and 'at least I'd make a bit more' off my deals. Yeah, I'll sell you that $12 razor for $1, you'd like that, huh? laugh out loud

Quote from ArielA :
I did SOBE at both stores Yahoo! Now I am hiding it so that our "house sitters" don't find it, does that make me bad? laugh out loud
I guess I am just too nice. I tell our dog sitters that there is nothing sacred in our pantry, refrigerator or freezer that they can't have. I figure I'll just find another deal to get more of what I really want.

Quote from sbhiggins :
As for the haircolor-- you can do it! I started dying my hair when I was 18. The P10 kits actually make it really easy. They got this comb-thing that attaches to the bottle. Just lie a lot of junky towels you don't care about around your bathroom before you start.
Yeah, I read a deal recently that P10 was selected 'easiest to use' of all the haircolors out right now.

Just curious---

On the receipts for the toys purchased at 75%, almost all the items start with "NCF" such as: NCF Bionicle, NCF Play Doh, NCF Jump Rope.

What does "NCF" mean?

8/21. And I call every day to see if they have an opening before that. They are sympathetic but since he wasn't diagnosed there, we're not a priority, KWIM. I just walked out and told the kid, please hang on for 17 days, please. They just are more equipped to handle us, these guys aren't.

I mean, if it wasn't for that forum, I wouldn't have known that the shots were supposed to be at the same time every day. WTF????

OK think I need to take a break/shower now. Oh did I tell you I got a virus and can't stop coughing?

do you think this is happening to us because of all the etq's I used before I quit using them? Keep trying to find a reason--
Awww, Double. hug You do need to remember to take care of yourself too or you won't be in any shape to take care of DS! Do NOT beat yourself up over this!! Like Ariel said, it is NOT your fault! And it's certainly not because you used etq's.shake head

Goodness, I think I just ended the longest weekend everrrrr!! It was just non-stop work, life, stuff lol.

I have a TON of pm's to respond too and stuff to send out, so if you didn't get a response from me, I promise I'll try to get to it today!

I really want to just go hide and relax but today is my shopping day! Yesterday was dh's 30th birthday...he was not thrilled about that at all lol. But we were both so tired from this weekend we fell asleep right after dd went to sleep at 7:30 EEK!

We went to Macy's b/c we had a large gc to spend...didn't even spend all of it b/c dd started being a monster...but I can tell you that I have never "spent" that much on lingerie before in my life..and that was clearance stuff!! that store is super expensive, but I got super cute stuff.

Oh, and I just wanted to share my good deed with you guys because I know you would appreciate how good it made me feel!

Dh called me Thursday when I was running errands and asked me if we had size 5 diapers. Now, I do not have the stock you guys do...I really have only like 4 packs of diapers, I didn't have mfq q's for them and without them they just weren't a stock up deal for me...just too much oop. So I said no I have 2's and 3's why? Long story short a good friend of ours is having a lot of financial problems to the point of not being able to afford diapers for 3 days. Him and his wife are both really good people, work hard and are just having a rough time. So I said well let's see what we can do for them.

Yesterday I sent a box of stuff back to Chi-town for them with some friends and it was loaded down!! Diapers, wipes, deodorant, razors, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towel, body wash, kid's shampoo, toothpaste, pretty much anything and everything! It made me feel super good b/c what good does all of this stuff do if i cant help the people who really need it??

DS- The lancet we use mostly is the one that came w/ the one touch. We do have a couple others as backup because these tend to get "lost" the most. I think I've gotten one or two from the doc, don't know what kind they are.

Another thing (but it runs in the meat category, kind of) is vienna sausages. Have you tried cutting things up in cubes and letting him use a popsicle stick to eat them? As he got older we let him use toothpicks and chopsticks. Lots of things he didn't like would get eaten then!! We also would buy flavored waters to freeze into popsicles. Does he like scrambled or hardboiled eggs? To encourage him to eat when he doesn't want to you could always break out the take along thomas that's a bulldozer (butch maybe?) and use it as a spoon. Or if that one in particular doesn't work, I'm sure you've got something in that stash that would. I think the one I used was a tonka truck.

I just packed ours into the diaper bag for our trip tomorrow laugh out loud We have this one [amazon.com] and Soph just LOVES it!!! She wears it a lot, not because we want her to, but because she asks for her pack-pack. Her nick name is monkey, and she has always loved them, so this model was perfect for her and she really loves it!!! I also like that the "leash" part can be detached and she can just wear it on her back. Also, there is a small pouch so she can store some stuff in it Smilie

BTW~ We got it at T Wink
My baby's nickname is monkey!!! laugh out loud I didnt realize you were talkin about the 'packpack'

Quote from TXSMOM :
My DD just turned 2 and I use one of the backpack leashes for her. I bought it at WalMart. It is a teddy bear one and it works great. They can still run, but not very far. They learn really fast how far they can go!! There is alot of people that look at you funny, but I dont really care as long as it makes my life a little easier!!

Hope that helps you!! bounce
Quote from sbuxlover :
I used one with my son, He was a very hyper runner. AIl they had then was the elmo one--no backpack on it.
I agree, you get lotsa looks. But it's better than your kid getting lost. Mine took off @ target once, had my hands full with the baby during the XMAS rush. you cant see a little one under all those people ESPECIALLY by the cash registers. I just ran in for a gallon of milk. shake head they found him in the toy isle on the other side of the store. SCARY EEK! I bought a "leash" the next day and never left home w/out it.
He had a little trouble getting used to it. He'd run and fall, but after that it was great! I recommend them.
That's what I was afraid of.. I already get crazy stares like 'lady with too many kids' and it doesnt help that my husband is 6 ft 9 in and 275lbs & I 5 ft 9 in and 110lbs -- both covered in tattoos, so we already look like circus sideshow!
but I guess we have gotta do what we gotta do as parents these days...

Hmmmm popsicle stick food. That could work. I'll put it on list. My list is longer. No eggs until he's 3 (I'm allergic).

OMG do you know how hard it would be for me to find Butch? I have like 6 totes downstairs labeled Thomas. Would be easier to just buy another oneLMAO
