You guys jinxed me! My normally (fairly) well-behaved 18 month old jumped out of his crib this morning! I am totally not looking forward to putting him in a toddler bed, because I don't think he's ready, and his bedroom is on the second floor. I'll have to be sure his door is closed tight once we put him in one, because I know he won't stay in it, and can't have him taking a tumble down the extremely old, extremely steep staircase. Frown

I'm not a nurse but I get pinched nerves in my back and have physical therapy exercises that I do to relieve this, if you insurance will help cover physical therapy I highly recommend triing it. I get a nerve in my lower back pinched in my muscles and it cuts off the function of one of my legs. Imagine a mom with a new born in her arms taking a step and having no foot to land on, it will literally feel like my leg disappeares mid step. Sometimes it is just pain that causes limping. I hate medicating and while nursing refused to medicate, so I do this exercise that I use a rolled up pillow or towel, law flat and put the rolled up pillow under my lower back and do pelvic tilts, I do this everyday, it releases the tension in my lower back muscles, that in turn takes the pressure of the nerve.

Get a baby gate for the top of those stairs. He'll learn how to open that bedroom door before you know it.

Your scaring me. My 18 mo was hanging out of his the other day. I think we can move it one notch lower then that's it. The kid can't talk yet, no way I'm getting him a toddler bed

That's the worst of it - there's a round banister on one side of the staircase, so baby gates don't fit - and he's climbed them in the past so no guarantees on one anyway. Would I be a bad mom to put a lock on the outside of the door? laugh out loud

I haven't seen her in ages. Gas prices-we are over an hour away so we've been sticking to our close to home stores.

I'm worried about it bopping around in there though. They make these cases custom made for the insulin and it won't budge and there's room for a freezer pack to keep it cool. On the outside are the syringes. It's like $20 I think on the web, there's a medical supply store not too far I was going to check out

LMAO That reminds me of the time last summer that Dylan started doing that. He was about 18 months old. His crib was upstairs at the time. I put him to bed. Put my other 2 in the tub. Stepped outside for a minute. Came back in to find Dylan in the tub FULLY clothed with the other two!!!

Or the time we had a friends cat and 3 kittens for about a week. He went upstairs and came down with one of the kittens and was holding it around its neck. Said," Look...kitty." Poor thing.

He would get stuck trying to climb out of his crib sometimes. He would be half in and half out yelling for me. Then I would get up there and he would just start laughing when he saw me saying," Stuck mommy!" LMAO

Kids are so funny!!

Mine hasnt attempted to get out of the crib yet, but its only a matter of time. He likes to hold onto the side and jump up and down.

He is running me ragged today. I dont think he is feeling well, he usually misbehaves when he is sick or teething.

I am taking the quickest shower of my life when he goes down for a nap, and then I am taking one myself. We will take a walk later today too, if I live til then,

If there is enough of a hallway you can put the baby gate in the hallway right outside his door. Or two of them. One on top of the other.

In reference to toddlers getting out of bed. One night I got home late and brought my dd in from the car from a fun night with her cousins so she was wired. I was exhausted and I said time for bed and she basically refused. She usually doesn't fight me on bedtime routine but not this night. I put her in her crib and read a story and she just kept telling me no, no, no. I was like yes, yes, yes. Closed the lights said goodnight and walked out the room. Usually sound asleep within minutes. I went to the kitchen, trying to straighten out after a couple of minutes her room is quite, I am thinking aaaaahh dd is asleep but all of a sudden I hear a thumpFaint and hear pitter patter and she walks in the kitchen really mad and said mommy not nice. I was in EEK!. Well I just wasn't ready to turn her crib to a toddler bed (she was 17 months at the time) so the next day I went and got her a sleeper sack. I makes it hard for her to extend her legs over the bar. I put her in it every night and she is now 30 months and still in her crib and has not attempted getting out since. I am debating switching over to toddler bed but why push it. I think I am going to do it soon though becuase we are potty training now.

i tried it..my kids loved time out...after a while they got the impression that they are supposed to dive and then go sit in a corner chair for 2 mins...thats so cute...laugh out loud so as ds suggested moved the toys away and cushions on the floor...

Hi all..

I was always scared to put a gate at the top of our steps. I was afraid in the middle of the nite the kids would hit it and it would flip over the gate and fly faster and harder down the steps..
So instead no gate and almost all the kids learned to slide down the steps on their stomachs..
My youngest doesn't even call for me in the middle of the nite(if I have fallen asleep on the couch)He gets off my bedBig Grin comes down the steps and walks through the foyer and kitchen to find me..He has been doing this since like 18 months...
