very bad coupons NOT to use, on the extreme end of coupon abuse/ fraud. if you don't know what they are, be glad you don't so you can avoid that temptation. worship

I think a lot of it has to do with cashier/ lod attitudes. I can't say anything for lurkers, but I don't think there are many posters in this thread attempting obscene crap with their coupons. ie, there might be 'similar product substitution' but not a whole lot of completely stupid crap like CWS. That said, I coupon to my own comfort zone and for the most part avoid putting stuff in my cart that I'll have to explain away for the coupon I'm attempting to use on it.

on the other hand some of the posters experiencing issues weren't trying to 'pull anything' at all and were humiliated in front of other customers over nothing. it can be frustrating when a cashier can't remember a single thing they had just scanned 2 seconds ago so have to go fishing before scanning every coupon. if its a large order i can understand how they may not remember everything the customer bought, but come on seriously they can't remember ANYTHING at all that went across that scanner? and the ones that do this are completely rude, total jerks and coupon nazis about it. shake head vomit

if not that, how many of us have heard the 'one per purchase' crap? or overage coupons cannot be adjusted? printable target coupons can't be accepted. or coupons that beep can't be accepted even if its the exact right item (even pictured!) on the coupon? Mad

its unnecessary and inconsiderate (a lot of time-wasting) both to the customer and others behind them to be this extreme to someone just because they use coupons.

but yeah, dm, i do agree that to some extent some of us perhaps do things that may/ may not be completely kosher, and thus get bent out of shape. but on the other hand, at this point some of the measures target is taking are just going too far over the line and in several cases there was no reason to be so at all.
Very well said Shopgirl. I agree alot has to do with how a person is treated and the manner in which a GSTL/LOD handles the situation.

I'm not sure that's true though. We've heard reports of companies not reimburseing a store for q's when they have not sold that many items. For example, the $5 Durex q for personal massagers. Target doesn't sell that product. If they turn in thousands of mq's to get reimbursed on, will the manufacturer actually reimburse them for the q's when they didn't sell the product??
I dont think this is a good exaample...the Q clearly states ANY DUREX PLAY - the lubes & c-rings are in the PLAY line -- this is the samething as 'you cant put every product picture on the Q' theory
Plus - this is the SECOND time they released this same Q so if durex felt it was being misused they probibly wont have put it out there again.

I'm with you DM, not chastising anyone either but when I have a bad run where I get denied coupons, I'm not mad at Target or the cashier or anyone. I'm bummed that I didn't have a good run but I certainly can't blame a person for doing their job. I DO sometimes get upset over the way the cashiers or LOD's handle a situation. I've mostly had my coupons graciously declined and I have no problem when that happens as I would hope most of us would react as well. It also does upset me when I have overage items and they state that they can't/won't adjust the coupon down since that is supposed to be there policy. Even with the email, I've had them say that it doesn't apply to travel items, etc.
me, too

My 2 about coupons---

IMHO a lot of the problems started with the "decoding." Folks started using, say, a soap coupon on pet food. The manufacturer put out a soap coupon because they want you to buy soap. Same thing for the dearly departed T Toy Q. A lot of people didn't even buy toys and used the coupon on purchase of other products.

A coupon practice that really gets on my nerves is the usage of a BOGO q and only getting 1 item. You are supposed to buy 2 and get a full deduction on 1 of the 2.

Flame away....
This is not when I blame the cashier - I blame the companies register system. Cashiers are not paid enough to have to weed out the 'bad' These big boxes have enough $$$$$ that they should invest in some smarter equipment. IMO

Is there anything you can do with empty canon ink cartridges? I have oodles and just hate throwing them away. I don't like messing with refilling myself and OD doesn't take them. I figure someone here might know nod
I know OfficeMax will recycle them. They don't give you anything for Canon cartridges, but they will still take them to recycle. That way you aren't just throwing them in the landfill.

in very small teeny tiny print below durex play it says personal massagers...so the cpn actually reads save $5 of any durex play personal massager....someone posted this info quite some time back and the AP at my store knows abt this cpn....
