Costco 36' of RGB + WW LED Light Strips with mounting hardware and IR remote $40 Online and B&M

I bought these last week when they were only in store and they work great. They have two sets of led's on them; one for RGB, and the other for the White setting. The white is a Warm/Neutral color, and does not have a blue hue to it.
It is a 24V system that comes with three 12' strips with connectors built in, and strong 3M adhesive to attach to surfaces. It's also weatherproof (the strip is dipped/coated) for those needing that option.
I'd say these are superior to other deals from Amazon or Newegg because it's a 24V system and the power brick/transformer has loads of safety certification stickers on it. The 12V deals that come from amazon always worry me for safety if you plan on using them to run long lengths of strips.
That, and the IR remote has reach at least up to 20-25 feet in my house. I haven't tried any further because that's as far as I can reach from where the lights are currently installed.

They also had plain white rope lights, that I think were cheaper, but I don't remember how long they were.

I guess technically, but if that's the case you'd be better off with a cheaper 12V system if you're lighting them up separately, or are looking for individual control of each one.
Or you could buy cabling that comes with 5 wires so you can make extensions if you want to have them all together. There is probably a max recommended length to running 24V led strips without additional components, but I don't remember what it is.
That or find 24V components (The IR sensor and transformer) to connect to the other strips, but you'd have to control them all individually if you don't have line of sight to all of the IR sensors.

24V allows them to make longer runs, but you're likely incorrect about the resistor thing. LED''s have their own resistance, so depending on the characteristics of the led, a resistor might be unnecessary, especially if 5 led's add up to approximately 25V.
That being said, resistors and other components are visible, but I didn't try to find out how they were wired. But in general, 24V is used to lower the amperage so longer runs can be made without frying the led's closer to the power source.
There is an available set of solder pads at the end of the strip to run more after the 3rd strip, and even an extra 5 pin connector in the hardware, but you'd have to read up on them. There are definitely two different types of LED's though. The RGB led's are larger than the white led's. I think the larger ones are usually what is called 5050 led's.

Yes they can be, and I believe they include an extra connector just for such an operation. But yes, there are specific points with pads available to solder to. You would have to remove some of the waterproofing to access them, though.
Just remember it's 5 wires because the white and RGB led's get separate pads
Went back to Costco and they either sold out or stopped carrying that product. Does anybody know where I can get more the same?
Honestly. They suck. They white is very yellow and can't be shifted. The color options are not very bright
The controller has a bunch of party flashing options that I'll never use. And it has a giant protruding nub where the battery holder is. This nub has a screw in it that HAS to be removed to change the battery tray. The battery tray has it's own snap connector and doesnt require this, but they insisted on putting it there with a warning stating batteries are small and can be swallowed. This screw also is not easily permanently removed.
This is not a product meant for kids but there are warning stickers everywhere that need to be removed. There are 8 separate silver warning labels on the damn power wire.
It's nice that its 36ft of LED strips, but they are spaced pretty far apart compared to my cheaper strips. The only good thing is the water proofing case is pretty thick and the double sided tape is 3M and sticks very well.
