Here are the basics of the card:
For Reference:

Card earns at the following rates:
- 2.5% cash back on all purchases if you have a $1,000 monthly direct deposit into your
USAA checking account
- 1.5% cash back on all purchases if you don't receive the monthly direct deposit
- No annual fee
- No sign up bonus
- Chip & PIN
- No foreign transaction fees
- You must be a USAA member to apply for the card
It seems to be to be YMMV. If you're currently a USAA member, make sure that you log into their mobile app and see if you were targeted. USAA plans to launch this card nationwide by the end of 2017. Both my coworker and I had no trouble finding the offer on our USAA homepage.

For comparison, the best unlimited cash back on all purchases cards are the Citi Double Cash and Fidelity Rewards, which both offer 2% cash back. At 0.5% more, this card is still a better deal - for those who can get it.
This all said, this deal still pales in comparison to the signup bonuses you can continuously earn by continuously signing up for new credit cards. This is a game many love to play, but it takes effort to keep track of everything and keep on top of the best deals and which cards to apply for. The credit card companies are also constantly trying to fight back against people who do this (ie the Chase 5/24 rule: http://www.doctorofcre
Bottom line: this is a great card if you can get it. Thanks Op!

To be fair- for those who travel the Freedom Unlimited isn't 1.5% CB- it's 1.5x UR... which is worth more like 2.25-3% cash back on the low end, and 6-7% cash back on the high end for premium airfares.
The regular freedom is even better than that of course
How is customer service?
2.5% is definitely enticing, but Amex has done so much for me in these other categories, it would be very hard for me to switch. Plus there is the whole switching them to your main account. That is huge and definitely should be in title.
