People taking peelies (coupons) off items in the store

Do you think it is wrong or okay for people to take peelies (coupons) off of items in the store when they don't ever buy that item?

Who Cares??? Sorry but I do not care if people take coupons off products and I worked in stores for years. OMG I think its a really silly reason to get upset about. Its just a coupon. No different than the ones in the ads or even printing them from online. Cool Chill dude.

i got a question for the pro peelies. i'm just trying to understand, no judgments.

so ponds free movie tickets expire in a couple days. from what i've read in the threads.. people feel even more justified in taking them because if it expires no one gets them. well no matter when you clear places out.. if you stop someone who legitimately purchases a product from getting the promo, isn't there something wrong with that?

after expires.. sure. you have a point. but the way most people are talking it seems like they'd better get as many as they can right now because its just a couple days till it expires.

shouldn't a person buying the product like the sponsors program expected them to be entitled to a free ticket if they bought it before the expiration date?

Many people buying the Pond's don't know about the Promo, And most Pond's regular consumers would buy it whether a sticker is attached or not. But you are right , if some knows about the promo and is a regular Pond's customer it could be frustrating to find all the peelies taken. But even then its up to Pond's to decide how to distribute them, it should have been a mail in offer. That being said I found a bunch of Dazzling Diamonds pink peelies (really old promotion) in a bunch of stores so at some stores Pond's is not a big seller.

Valid point, but if the shelf is 20 deep in product and the deal expires in a few days, I don't see anything wrong with taking a couple. These products aren't fast moving products anyway. They were clearanced out at alot of stores because they weren't selling. Plus, it's not a coupon for dollars or cents off, so if a person was at the store to buy the product because they want the product..it's not like they would be getting it cheaper with the peelie. IMO, this is not a product that sells well anyway. These peelies have been sitting on them for several months now and will probably end up in big lots with the expired peelies still on them.. but it is a personal choice. I don't go in and take ALL the peelies off the product. But I will take a couple. Anyone that comes along behind me will find peelies still on the product. This is a popular coupon in the fact that it is actually a prepaid mastercard in the amount of 12.00. Take that where you will. Do I have 100 of them? No. I have a few. And I also have the product. I don't 'take' them everytime.

I agree with the bold and I still take them. Pond's and other ones should be IN the package instead of on the outside or maybe a rebate. If someone buys a Pond's or any product, and the coupon isn't there but they didn't know about it in the first place, no harm done IMO. I get pissed when there are no coupons left in stores because people get there before me and take them all, so now I take whatever I see. Lifes a bitch, o well. I got more important things to think about than hurting peoples feelings for taking peelies.

Honestly, this is my first day taking any Pond's. Like I said previously, had no idea what they were. There you go mod!

i don't want to come across wrong, i'm just trying to get more information before i can make a decision on where i stand on the ethical value. on a 1 or 2 stance, its harmless enough.

like all sales/offers and things like that.. its fine if done in moderation. i'm usually in the favor if a company wanted to they could have put in extra security. tropicana could have made it so only 1 entry per person was enforced. if it was as easy as getting another email address... that's their fault. peelies aren't so simple. some products keeping it inside teh packaging is impossible. or its added money designing new packaging.. and so on.

i'm just trying to see both sides of the story. to me, anything that prevents even 1 person from getting the intended promo, just seems wrong. but if managers of grocery stores don't care who am i to care? Dontknow
