Do you think it is wrong or okay for people to take peelies (coupons) off of items in the store when they don't ever buy that item?

The sticker is part of the product, you can't just take it.
Especially if one just wanted free chocolate...and money.
Don't worry though. I won't say who I work for but I will say that Ebay and 1-800-Flowers are taking a good hard look at this situation and there will be consequences.
Oh and btw, I realize that the*scent*lady is most likely an SDer and that she'll read this post. I hope you do. I just know you'll be too chickensh*t to identify yourself.
What possible avenue could ebay or 1-800 flowers do aside from shutting down the auctions (if there is even a violation to be found)? Its not like there is anyway to prove whether someone bought the chocolate or not and implying guilt w/o reason is not something I see them planning on doing as part of a "promotion"
BTW, I checked Rite Aid and didn't find any of those boxes. My local CVS did have some though.
This goes to my Ionizer Theory of Internet Popularity:
Back in the day you only had a few people on these boards, enough to control that everyone would not "binge" on a deal for fear of the deal being ruined. Instead a deal would be milked slowly. However, nowadays there are so many people on SD it doesn't matter if you got 1 person doing something 20 times, or 20 people doing it one time, there's more people than supply of a good deal, so it doesn't matter anymore which way it happens.
If they wanted to do what you stated, which is allow the person buying to not open the product, but get the coupon, they coulda still put it in some plastic wrap around the outside. I am guessing they intended to do this, but for whatever reason, ran out of time or didn't think about it enough.
Again, taking them w/o buying is definitely morally wrong and I am not in anyway condoning it, so please don't misinterpret, but whether its "stealing" by definition of the law could be argued.
When you go to home depot, they have paint sticks, the paint sticks have no price associated with them, but they are intended for customers purchasing paint.
However, there is no price on them, no expectation to be paid for them. The peelies have no expectation to be paid for either, they are merely an accompaniment to a product.
SO MY QUESTION:
If you think taking a peelie is stealing, do you also think that taking some wood sticks from home depot is stealing if you aren't buying paint? what if you bought paint another day or plan to in the future?
IF there is no price associated with an item and the item is intended for customers (meaning your not taking a light fixture from the store), then how can you call it stealing?

Are you serious?

As for Ebay, they can ask where the promotional gift cards came from and then require a proof of purchase before selling them. (It's in the user agreement)
But yeah the worst they could do is shut the auction down and prevent new auctions from popping up, which is good enough in my book.
So yeah, it's not like these people are going to be hauled off to jail in the middle of the night, but at least steps are being taken to curb the profiting.

not sure what part of my question you don't take as being serious

what about the magnets on the coke bottles? My kids really like those...I promise though, I only would move them from the coke to the sprite. So, you can't come after me for that!
