Reprogramming as in "rooting"? I have an *Official* thread for the HTC Hero - lnly The guys have talked a lot about rooting and I think your advice is spot on. I won't try it without getting some help in the Tech forum (don't know if you fancy that forum). However, with all the Hero has as it is, I don't see why I would root the phones (I got 3) anyway.

kitteh - I forgot to mention that the HTC Hero you can get at Best Buy for $179.99 w/2 year agreement. That is the same after-rebate price if you bought directly from Sprint, but no mailing and waiting for a $100 rebate.

The Hero is an awesome phone! There are some really cool apps from the Android Market to download and so many of them are free. What I really like is the versatility. It does everything I want it to do and it does it very well. And I have plenty of reppable posts just from deals I was in on today!!!
