This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Target drama. They had a cow over the internet coupons and overage. So, I said adjust the coupon to the price of the item. For example the OM Deli sandwiches were $2.99 and the coupon was for $3. Then they said when it scans and pops up item not found, they aren't supposed to be overriding. So I said fine, I'll go to Walmart and left everything.

Now my question is, should they adjust the coupon to the price and override the item not found error cause it's was very obvious that I bought the item. Is this something I should write to Target about?
They should but did you have enough other non overage coupons? That's often the key. If you have a small pile of just overage coupons it will likely not work. If you have a medium size pile combination of legitimate non overage coupons and overage coupons combined, you should have better luck

Yes and maybe. Yes, they should adjust the price down. I'm pretty sure that's in the standard reply letter in the wiki, but double check. Was it just a cashier that was saying this, or was it the LOD or GSTL? If it was just the cashier and you've never had a problem before, I would probably let it slide. She could just be a misinformed cashier or someone with a bug up their butt. If it was the GSTL/LOD, then I would call from the store (if during hours). Because if it's the LOD, then they are training all the cashier's this way, and it is not Target's policy so she/he needs to be set straight by corporate. Personally, and this is just my opinion, I think a phone call will serve you better. Some people have reported taking an email response in, and still getting shot down. Again, this is just my opinion though.

Neither the acting GSTL or the ETL manager that showed up after i told the acting GSTL to adjust the coupons to the price of the item could comprehend that. Then for some weird reason the OM Deli sandwich coupons were popping up 'item not found.' I'm thinking cause of the 1 cent difference. But the manager said he'd look into it. That's when I told the acting GSTL he didn't even know how to tell if the internet coupons were real or not! He was trying to keep quiet and let the ETL manager do all the talking but I told the ETL manager to let the 'acting' GSTL answer my questions, as he should know this. That's when the ETL manager told me that he is in training -- well then where was his trainer? Then I was told he was filling in for the GSTL's break. Hummm.

They were comparing my coupons to other coupons they already had just like them and I pointed out that all my internet coupons were legitimate as they had different numbers on them. Thing is when I got home, I had more coupons then I took in, so the acting GSTL must have accidently given me some of the other coupons they already had. I benefitted there!

So should I write in or something to see what coporate has to say about internet coupons and adjustments and when to override? Then they can also inform the store of the correct proceedure. Also, i'd have an E-mail printout to take with me net time in case this drama happens again.

I'm really surprised their security wasn't there breathing down my neck! Such as I've read about that has happened to others.

Can anybody help me out with the TGIF Q? I got some Tava Q to trade in return, or make an ask for something else I will check. Thanks!

Come to find out it was the acting 'stand in' GSTL while the real GSTL was on break and who called an ETL, who said that they can't adjust the coupons down to the item price. Something about they have to scan. For some weird reason the $3 OM Deli Sandwich coupons where popping up 'item not found' and it was right there in front of them that I bought it, but they wouldn't override it.

I have a quick question that I SHOULD know ....are you still able to convert mamma mia codes to fandango cards? I went to print out my mamma mia certificates and convert them later but my printer is not working for some reason. I have started writing down all the info that is on each one of them, but I dont want to lose out if we can't still convert them over.
I hope I am making sense!!

Well it wouldn't (or I should say, shouldn't) say "item not found" because of the penny difference. Check the bar code on the coupon to the upc on the sandwiches. Maybe there is an extra 0 in the bar code like the Johnson & Johnson q's, which makes them beep.

I would def. send off an email. It the managers are saying they can't adjust a coupon down, then they are training all the lil misfits to do the same, which is incorrect according to Corp. Hopefully you will get the response you need from corp and you can take it with you next trip. If you get the same treatment next time, and they still refuse after you show the email, call corp from the store. Try to go during business hours, just in case.
