This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I'm still such a newbie but I've noticed people talking about EMQ and the military. Can anyone tell me where exactly to send them? I keep my extra Q's in magazine holders and I have 4 of those filled with old inserts. I'm sure I have several hundred of these and I can't stand to even put them in recycle bins, I would love to actually help someone out with these. Any ideas?

Another SAHM chiming in! I have a 3-yr old son, 21-month old daughter, and one due in December. They definitely keep me busy. Smilie Can totally relate to wanting to contribute financially, but how dilemma. I have always been pretty frugal when it comes to coupons and groceries and whatnot, but since I've been on SD, I've done SO much better. Smilie

Our income is very limited, as we are in a high cost-of-living area, so me shopping and wheeling and dealing is absolutely necessary in order for us to survive here. But hubby's job is treating him well, he's gotten promotions and raises, etc., just have to wait it out for things to get a little easier. And gas dropping so quickly is such a HUGE blessing, too! Amazing how something like that can affect your whole outlook on things.

I do sell on eBay, mostly books and such, so that helps as well. Except for when I get idjit buyers who think all I do is sit around all day to wait on them... Mad Overall, though, its a fun way to earn extra money and since I heart books, its a perfect fit. Smilie Although ... the sight of me wheeling an overloaded stroller (WITH baby inside), boxes toppling everywhere, and holding a 3-yr-old by the hand, all with a rather pregnant belly, into the post office, must be quite hilarious for people. Big Grin But hey, it gives me extra spending money and puts food on my table, so I'll do what it takes, right!? laugh out loud

Is it silly that my husband just had to ask me if we had enough in the house to take us through the weekend, should Hanna decide to visit us?! Hadn't even thought of that! The only other hurricane we've had here in the 8+ years I've lived in Northern Virginia was Ivan. Guess we need to run out tonight and get some milk and eggs. Bummer, does that mean I need to go to Target?!?!?! nod LMAO

I'm a SAHM! Big Grin DH is a programmer but has been laid off 3 times. Right now he's working on getting his Sun JAVA certification hoping that will lead to more job opportunities. We also moved to be closer to Research Triangle Park (NC). Florida is just NOT where the IT positions are at. Right now DH is making less than a teacher's salary but with my couponing and tight budgeting we're getting by. We have 2 girls--- 3 and 6 1/2. wave

My hubby was in programming and had a top secret security clearance, and at the time was making pretty decent money. But the politics involved with the companies he worked for, and everything involved with the clearance was just not him. He's a very open, honest person and not very good at being politically correct just to earn himself a pat on the back. laugh out loud But the company he's with now, he's not using his clearance at all, started at the base pay level and is working his way up, getting certifications in different things. He's very happy to be out of programming and into more hands-on work. Its been a hard 3 years - he's had to work 2 jobs at times to make ends meet, but thank God, things are slowly getting better. He's even up for a raise - praying its a good one! Smilie

I'm a firm believer in doing what you love, and enjoy, and I am willing to do my part to make our money stretch. Smilie Definitely better to scrimp and save and have a happy hubby/home than to live in luxury and have a stressed-out man to deal with! laugh out loud

And besides everything I just said - ain't it great we actually have valid reasons to justify this um ... addiction?!?

I agree. When I was on vac for 2 weeks just watching DS I barely checked in until night. And of course then I had a ton to catch up on.

Had a derm appt, apparently have a yeast infection on my toes ?????. Dentist cleaning. Target, kohls (first time), Rite aid (transfer rx i wuv u bfshopgirl), grocery store and WM during the break in between. Now I must go to work.

Did get pool chemicals 75%. Most of the good stuff was gone. No peelies to be seen. And holy cow, I used up my last $6 Disney peelie at WM. I thought I'd never be rid of those, now I want them back!!!
