hug Hello there ! Yes Jillyern I dread some of the case worker visits and could relate. I spend the day cleaning too . I wear many hats..maid is one... Sometimes I wish we could just meet our caseworker at T!LMAO
Thanks for the T trip tips Doublesided & Discountmama . A T with Durex rings would be a Godsend. Dh and I are so thankful to all of you who took the time and effort to get us some rings.: You are sort of our ahem...marriage helpers..lust: jk.
Just when I was learning to be a creative CVSer I got an email from a local sd friend that she is not longer going to her usual CVS. Like many she had been stacking the $3/15 CVSQ's etc Per her their store manager caught on . She could not figure out how all the new cashiers knew who she was. Finally one share with her that after each interview the manager shows new hires etc. her picture ! I asked her if this was legal and she said yes they can show videotape here in Ga but not tape one's voice. :eek Maybe there is a market for Kool-aid dye here afterall. nod I am only sharing this fyi..not to scare anyone.. just a heads up.. so to speak.. bulb Jen can you please share with us how to get a different bad hair day..jk.. I know you are beautiful inside and out!
I didn't shpp today since I was burnt out and lazy WG was next to where I took the kids and the WG walls beaconed me to get some free w/ rebate Crest Pro-Health TP-.50mq.
I am soo happy that all you are safe from the storm.
When my dad lived in Buffalo,Ny he used to jokingly say that there were 2 seasons there. .. this winter and last winter! Some of my family is at the Cape in the mess now.

ok...I know I'm not the only one planning Christmas...

what are y'all getting the kids this year?

for DD 6 mo:

rock and ride pink Fisher Price pony
Fisher Price laugh & learn shopping cart (ok, you're laughing...)

DD 3yo:

I'm looking at the new Vsmile system (VMotion I think?) We have the original VSmile set from the first Christmas it came out. This one works with all those games too but you can do more with it. not sure if it is worth the upgrade or not.

same with the newest Leapster. We have an old, battered up Leapster LMax but the new leapster is smaller and the new games are more fun. Is it worth the upgrade?

DS 7 yo

probably 2 Wii games, Star Wars Lego set. Maybe a new board game. he wants the new Leapfrog didj, but last Christmas he got a DS. Must we have EVERY handheld electronic on the market?? (well, we dont' have a PSP either....)

anybody giving more interesting things?

--------------------------------------------

okay, scanning the TRU ad online and found this:

SAVE 15%, 25%, or 50% ON ANY ONE HASBRO, PARKER BROS., MILTON BRADLEY OR CRANIUM GAME **BUT!! there's a code inside each ad, you don't know what savings you get until you take the coupon to the store and match the symbol to the board in store (or wait for someone on SD to post the deal matches). Coupon is good until 9/20. guess I am buying the usual 10 papers instead of just 6.

-----
check out this new scholastic mystery game...uses books, online clues, card clues...
there was an ad in All You this month, it looks really fun though!

Ok, I know that none of you are here, and that I shouldn't be pouting, but I am! I always try to help the CNA's at my job, letting them know when/where there are good sales at, since they all work with a lot less income than the nurses do. So tonight I told one of them about double Q's at our kmart and then I left. I came back to the nurses station and the new nurse was just finishing her sentance and I heard her say "it's not worth $0.30 savings for me" and then she laughed. Then the CNA's saw me and said "Oh Ariel, we were just telling XXXXX your dedication to sales/Q's." I replied that I like to do it and that just this week alone I got over $300 worth of stuff from K for $3.44. The CNA's all said that they know I do good, they are just not dedicated like me. Anyways, I am babling now, and I know that most ppl won't do the Q's like we do, but it hurt my feelings. I know that I shouldn't be bothered by this, and that in reality I should be laughing at them, but instead, I am all pouty....

We love you here. We all understand this addiction to coupons. I also am made fun of at work..at both of my jobs. On Thursday morning I was asked, "Did you go and buy more Pop Tarts?" Of course, they are snickering..When I my smile is big and replied. Yep! Others really don't understand the reason we do all this crazy coupon shopping.

But...I know I am feeding myself and my kids when they are home..I honestly try to keep all my out of pocket costs super low. Gas for my car, is almost $300 a month mainly for the reason of just driving back and forth to work. I know I will be laid off again at work this December for who knows how long? Usually it is 3 months. Then I return back to work. A crazy vicious cycle.

Remember we cannot help others unless they want to help themselves. We all must need to reflect on our own lives. The way are households incomes have switched because of coupons. Do we have more toys, more books? Planning trips we never could have before hand? Yes, because of coupons we all our life has been affected.

I met a gentleman at a retail store yesterday. His question was, "Are you successful?"
We all are successful here at SD. nod nod nod nod nod nod nod nod nod

Ariel I understand now how cpns work and why even a 50c cpn is important..Before I got hooked on SD, I thought shopping at Sams was a saving....I would also think "what the heck, its just 50 cents"....but agreed they shldnt be snickering at you..but just take it as they do not understand...and if they dont understand the importance of cpns and deals, it is their loss....

So I forgot to mention, took hubby with me yesterday to do Pop tart deal. We were talking about GC deals and I mentioned how some people got hundreds of dollars worth of GC's for the perfect 10 promo. He was oh so excited. I told him next gc deal that come around he could do his own deals and keep his own gc's and use them for whatever he wants. He said he cant wait. He is so funny.

I have 1.00 off Kashi q's from an oranic booklet from a local grocery store, but have no idea where they are as I never cut them up. Plus its not a money maker so I am not sure I will be doing it.

Need to go to Hellmart today for more papers. I dread going there on a Sunday. They are converting it to a Super Walmart, and there is litterally stuff all over the place. Food aisles in between clothing and such, its a mess

I go through the same thing too Ariel. We are a rare breed laugh out loud Most people don't want to invest the time...I tried to teach my sis, neices, etc. They don't want to take the time to do it, they just want me to tell them when there is a good deal. At first I did, but I don't anymore. Now, when they say "why didn't you tell me about....", I just say, you can find the same info I can...'feed a man fish and he eats one meal, teach him how to fish and he eats for a lifetime..' I took them all shopping, showed them how to read q's, and told them about my q sites..now it's up to them.

Hi Barb! Ready for a big week of Robitussin? Your wonderful coupon is going to do me wonders... I woke up this morning to find the local grocery ad to say "TGIFridays Appetizers, 3 for $9 - good until January 10th" Lust I don't have to rush now Whee

I also saw in vomitmart's ad that they are selling TGIFriday's LOADED! for $4.88 - they looked like giant food sizes of the appetizers - half a potato skin instead of 1/4

Nice post Kopenny! Ariel, keep your head up and remember the tons of money you are saving for your family and all the extras you are able to get because of couponing and SD'ing. The joke is on them!

Same thing here Teri. I got tons of diapers for my 2 cousins during the Pampers deal. I kept giving them at each family function throughout the summer. At the July 4th picnic, my aunt says to me "I'd like to place an order. Jen (my cousin) would like some pull-ups, size 5)." I laughed at the time and said ok. I got them for her and dropped them off at my aunt's house one Sunday. She wasn't home so I left them on the porch. I expected a phone call or an email at least to say Thank you. Nope. Nothin, nada, zilch! That was the last pack of diapers I bought.

Well said Devilmomma - Ariel you should be proud of how much money you save for your family- the joke is on them. I have a friend who I have tried to get "hooked" and when I tell her a deal that is going on she just laughs. I think she thinks it's just a .50 game of saving a little here or there (and that it doesn't amount to anything). My husband even tried to tell her once how it's made a huge dent in out monthly credit card bill. I really don't think some people get it. I think you have to do it to get it.

I showed my sis the beauty of wine tags..we found 5.00 off hormel and free rotisserie chicken..next thing you know, she has gone to all the stores in my area and cleaned them out. (doesn't understand moderation)...so I just quit telling her where I find things. Instead, i just pick up a couple for her and share.

I'm lucky in that my work peeps think it's cool. They all think I should give classes (that would never happen). I take them goodies all the time and leave on their desks. Last week they got pop tarts and rice crispy treats. In turn, they bring me inserts. They will never do this on the level that I do, but when they do use a coupon, they come running to tell me.

On a different note, one of my grocery stores is having a bogo on TGIF next week. It will make for 1.17 overage on each q. I am so hoping they will give the overage on an IP.

Here's hoping DS is doing Great at her sale today!
