This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

The lady laughed at me and said I didn't have to, but I told her it was all basically free and I needed to get rid of some of it anyway because we couldn't eat that many PopTarts laugh out loud
that was a very generous and cute idea! im still shivering over the scene i will get when i have this big bday party on the 20th for my kiddos! they will be like EEK! EEK! EEK! over my stockpile in my garage! we have a converted garage, half of it is for my stockpile and it also has a room that i converted into a playroom! most likely everyone will come in through the garage b/c the front door is off limits due to my carpet! laugh out loud but anyways i know they will be staring at all of my jewels!
but im happy that im going to throw the kids this extravagant party, all thanks to the yard sales/customer pickups i had from june-august! made over $4,000total! some for the party and the rest to put away for their college fund! i loveeeeeeeee slickdeals! bounce bounce

Ok, I know that none of you are here, and that I shouldn't be pouting, but I am! I always try to help the CNA's at my job, letting them know when/where there are good sales at, since they all work with a lot less income than the nurses do. So tonight I told one of them about double Q's at our kmart and then I left. I came back to the nurses station and the new nurse was just finishing her sentance and I heard her say "it's not worth $0.30 savings for me" and then she laughed. Then the CNA's saw me and said "Oh Ariel, we were just telling XXXXX your dedication to sales/Q's." I replied that I like to do it and that just this week alone I got over $300 worth of stuff from K for $3.44. The CNA's all said that they know I do good, they are just not dedicated like me. Anyways, I am babling now, and I know that most ppl won't do the Q's like we do, but it hurt my feelings. I know that I shouldn't be bothered by this, and that in reality I should be laughing at them, but instead, I am all pouty....

hug Sorry they were so rude to you! This is why I don't bother trying to help anyone. If someone asks, I'd gladly help but most people just act like we are crazy and I won't take that. shake head It's more fun to help folks here who are already "on board" so to speak.

So I forgot to mention, took hubby with me yesterday to do Pop tart deal. We were talking about GC deals and I mentioned how some people got hundreds of dollars worth of GC's for the perfect 10 promo. He was oh so excited. I told him next gc deal that come around he could do his own deals and keep his own gc's and use them for whatever he wants. He said he cant wait. He is so funny.
That's so cute!! Big Grin

You're so nice! Aren't you the one who posted that you brought your neighbor a bag of Durex stuff? LMAO I thought that was hilarious. Wink

well, i know lots of you are married to someone computer worthy so thought i would post here, too and see if any of you have any ideas.
dropped my blackberry in water last night. came on and off. took all parts out and they were dry. but the meshy part at the top near the camera was damp. got it dry. all came back on where i could make calls and receive calls and then got calls when the screen went black and could answer but couldn't see who it was.
charged all night. turn on this morning. can make calls but screen is no longer on. all incoming go straight to voicemail.
i posted in lounge. see zmarko has been here. anyone have any advice on what they would do? i have no insurance. someone told me to put it in a bag of rice already. haven't tried that yet.
please, please, please....anybody have any experience? or electronics guruness?
Just let it dry out for about a day - don't charge it, don't try to use it - you'll short out anything that might have any condensation on it - if you haven't already. Just give it time..... nod .

Ariel - Their loss.. they could be putting away lots of money for holidays, emergency funds, Christmas...You're just SMARTER than them...
I've told a few people and they just don't get it... then like alot of you, they just want me to give it to them free... I did at first, not anymore... no thank you's or here's a few bucks to get some extra papers - so nothing for them anymore.
I told my sister and she's just to uppity to clip coupons... she see's it, she buys it.. doesn't check prices on anything... But hey, she will now buy from me "to help me out"..
I'm not proud I'll take her money...

Hi all! Ariel & Teri & all I can sooo relate..Mad The one's you help the most are often the one's who never thank you and mock you. Many of the foster parents here just expect us to give them items! I would use coupons even if I won the lottery! Well..maybe a few.... Many of my friends are so ungrateful when we gift them qs /items. Since it makes me feel better than it does them I continue.Big Grin I do hate seeing qs go to waste though.
Today I am going to be doing chores and spending time w/family. My ddoggie has not been doing so well. He is 17.5 and our son. The kids like him and our dbunny better than they do us.Teehee It will be the saddest day of our lives when he passes.nod
I jsut want to reiterate how much I appreciate all of you.heart We are family too!

Congrats on the 1000+ club! Big Grin

I understand what you mean about your pet. We have an old lady cat who's been with us since my DH and I first started dating. We're not sure how old she is, but at least 12. Lots of health problems, though she keeps hanging in there. I don't know what we'll do without her. Frown
(She's the one in my avatar right now.) So hug and I know how you feel.

Okay, I know this was days and days ago, but if I could find this one

I would totally pay for it! I don't have counter space for the single serve dispenser unless I want it to live on my dining table.

any accounting people please help with this static problem...I just need to know the steps... I did this class 3yrs ago and can not figure out where to start...I

Objectives of assignment:

Develop a spreadsheet application designed such "that someone other than the developer can perform useful work without extensive training" (Walkenbach, Excel 2007, Power Programming with VBA, 2001, p 98). Link to a more extensive discussion of spreadsheet application from Walkenbach's book.
Turn accounting data into useful information by producing a management "decision support tool"
Expand Excel skill set beyond minimum COB requirements
The STATIC PROBLEM (shaded in yellow)

FreshPak Corporation manufactures two types of cardboard boxes used in shipping canned food, fruit, and vegetables. The canned food box (type C) and the perishable food box (type P) have the following material and labor requirements.

Type of box
C P
Direct material required per 100 boxes:
Paperboard ($.20 per pound) . 30 pounds 70 pounds
Corrugating medium ($.10 per pound) . 20 pounds 30 pounds
Direct labor required per 100 boxes ($12.00 per hour) .25 hour .5 hour

The following manufacturing-overhead costs are anticipated for the next year. The predetermined overhead rate is based on a production volume of 495,000 units for each type of box. Manufacturing overhead is applied on the basis of direct-labor hours.

Indirect material $10,500
Indirect labor 50,000
Utilities 25,000
Property taxes 18,000
Insurance 16,000
Depreciation 29,000
Total $148,500

The following selling and administrative expenses are anticipated for the next year.

Salaries and fringe benefits of sales personnel $75,000
Advertising 15,000
Management salaries and fringe benefits 90,000
Clerical wages and fringe benefits 26,000
Miscellaneous administrative expenses 4,000
Total $210,000

The sales forecast for the next year is as follows:

Sales Volume Sales Price
Box type C 500,000 boxes $90.00 per hundred boxes
Box type P 500,000 boxes 130.00 per hundred boxes

The following inventory information is available for the next year.

Expected Inventory Desired Ending Inventory
January 1 December 31
Finished goods
Box type C 10,000 boxes 5,000 boxes
Box type P 20,000 boxes 15,000 boxes
Raw Materials
Paperboard 15,000 pounds 5,000 pounds
Corrugating medium 5,000 pounds 10,000 pounds

Required for static problem:

Prepare a master budget for FreshPak Corporation for the next year. Assume the following for income tax rates. The first $50,000 of income is taxed at a marginal rate of 15%, the next $25,000 of income is taxed at a marginal rate of 25%, and after that the marginal rate is 34%. Include the following schedules.

Sales Budget
Production Budget
Direct-material Budget
Direct-labor budget
Manufacturing-overhead budget
Selling and administrative expense budget
Schedule of Manufacturing Cost per unit for each type of box. Computations should include direct material per unit, direct labor per unit and applied manufacturing overhead per unit
Budgeted income statement (Hint: To determine cost of goods sold, use the costs computed in Requirement 7)

Note A: Problem from Chapter 9 of Managerial Accounting, 7th edition, Ronald W. Hilton.

Note B: Check figures will be provided on the assignment page when they become available. Prior to the date on the syllabus for completion of the static problem, you should complete the requirements as shown in the YELLOW part of the assignment. This completion is not required to be on the computer but may be if you desire. BRING A PAPER COPY OF THE SOLUTION TO CLASS ON THE APPROPRIATE DAY. An in-class quiz will be given about the static problem on the day designated in the schedule.

End Static Problem
