When we were in grade school, we used to make lip gloss out of Vaseline and Kool Aid. They didn't have the fun blue and green colors back then!

i live in the city. houston. as of now we are planning to stay here. my parents told me to go west near katy where they live but they wont let me bring my kitty! so thats not an option for me...
im scared. i left my place with just furniture in the rooms. everything else is in my closet.
my boyfriend, who im staying with downtown, thinks its gonna be nothing and that i'm just worrying too much. Frown
now the people staying in Galveston... that i don't get. far too scary. but we saw some crazies on the news last night who refuse to leave.
Ok, the majority of the friends & family I know there are gone. My sisters company invited them all to go to go on a trip (45 employees)..work related of course but WOW nice offer. They were given 4 destinations & could be gone for 5-7 days.
Your BF is rememebering the hoopfla of Rita a few yrs ago when they opened 45 both ways to only go North then nothing happened. You can never be too sorry...
Some yrs ago ...SHSU got shut down due to the storms & flooding. when you couldn't even see 45 esp Conroe area. it was very scary then too...so many people lost their property esp cars due to water damage.

Pump rep just left. What a nice lady. I'm sold but we need to do our comparisons with the other rep on Monday and call insurance co. It's about $7K, don't know how much it would cost us out of pocket. and that's not even for the supplies that it needs, just the pump itself.

Last night I also registered us for the local JDRF walk. I've been hesitant about doing it, dont know if I can handle the emotional strain of all those diabetic kids in one place. But decided we need to do it for DS. So I sent the link to family and some work people with a small goal of $100 and we've already raised $350 from 5 people. *SNIP*
That actually will help you.....going out to the race. Even if you don't participate, just being out there for support of those who are doing it. Seeing all the faces of the kiddos who are going thru what your DS is going thru....meeting other families with the same issue.
It is amazing that after all the research & funding they have found very little to help Type 1 diabetics. Type 2 have had a few step ups but us type 1s are still stuck in the dark ages.
It is tough and hard to take help but give in every know & then otherwise you are going to run yourself down & that is not good for you or your DS.

$7k for the pump sounds like the average pricing. I did get info from 2 suppliers and they were around the same. Supplies are where you are going to get hit just as hard.

No. Spend your $ on stuff for your momma. You guys help me enough with q's and stuff. Not posting the link here. Work people and personal friends have had no clue how to help so this is a good outlet for them. You guys send me piles of q's and get stuff for DS. I mean Ariel got him PJ's last night. How cool is that

Yup we're not going to make a move until we know what insurance will/won't cover. But man, after seeing it in action today, I just know it will work out for him. What a pain it will be getting used to it the first few months but after that he can eat whenever he wants, no more strict schedules. deliver insulin with click of a button. Nice.

hubby just brought me in homemade pizza with something unknown on it. I start picking around at it and he says he wonders where DS gets his food issues from and walks out.laugh out loud

and his foot fetish. been kissing his toes since he was born. he thinks its normal so he inspects everyones shoes and occassionally tries to kiss a foot or too. He was fascinated with the pump reps boots today

Hubby was talking about someone at work that got a front loading washer/dryer. I told him no way until we run out of regular laundry detergent and have all DS bills paid off. I have 36 bottles left so it will be a while.

After they do the first Robi deal and get the $10 RR, they should do the Crest and (2) Cakesters and pay with the $10 RR, then get bacl $4.50 RR and a $3 RR to use with the $10/40 and include a Robi set in that deal...make sense? but they couldn't use those RR on another Crest or Cakester..win some, lose some

Blush2 I have not bought for a lot of boys, so I held up three options and had Alexa and Jason pick it. They both picked the same one, hope you like it Smilie

We have a front loader. It "broke" last week. Soph's little pair of pants got sucked into the pump and he had to get them out, now it works just fine. Glad I have my home warranty, bc it could have cost me a lot of $$$. The guys was here and wonderful!! I need to write a thank you note! He stayed about 20 minutes to "teach" me about things to help prevent this and maintain my machine. He said I could use regular detergent, but only about 1 tablespoon worth EEK! Until a few months ago I was using the WHOLE cup on the tide, then I realized I was supposed to be using a HE soap, so I started using half a cup shake head WOW, was I off. I have soo much tide, that I am not sure at 1 tbsp worth each load, we might make it until Soph is 5 or 6 nod does detergent expire laugh out loud

DEAL alert:
In the backpacks, check your Target for a Reebox laptop backpack/messenger type bag. It's black and a white pinstripe. It was 24.99 or so on the tag, but for some reason they were marked down to 6.24, then marked again at 75% off so they were 1.56!!!!!!! That's nearly 95% off EEK! I bought 5....1 to use as a library bag since it has a nice messenger style with long strap, and 4 more to donate to my son's school for kids without backpacks. Awesome deal!
ooh..I saw those last night on the endcap and didn't even stop!!

Ariel..those would be good for boys party favors... fill them up with candy and gum Smilie

They make special "HE" detergents to use with these machines. BUT a lot of people use regular detergent just fine, just use like half of what it says for the smallest load. So about a teaspoon or so. Smilie We have an LG Steam washer and LOVE it. I always buy HE detergent because it says the warrenty is void if you don't. But the warrenty is almost up at this point and I may just buy the other. I only can use ALL free and clear and it's a heck of a lot easier to find that if I am not buying the HE kind. Then I can buy it on clearance, too!

I wish Target sold dryers. I want a new matching dryer. TOTALLY unncessary, just a want.

Happy late Birthday Ladies!!

So I had my best Target run EVER last night...Thank you SOOO much everyone!! I am learning, I really am learning!

DH has gained weight with my last 2 pregnancies. I have lost my weight (mostly) but he has not.

Yesterday I found a Reebok exercise bike for $90, 50% off. I called and asked him if he'd use it. "If I can put it in front of a TV..."

So I said "let me see what I can buy with coupons to get the price down" LMAO

OOP ended up at $102 !!! YAY!! yes, it's still high, but that's after tax and everything, so I didn't feel so bad.

bought TGIF, 9 Pantene things (didn't realize how great a deal LAST week was until I bought some yesterday), hot wheels (NEVER used that Q before now !), and 3 Glade boxes(LOVE those Angel Whisper tarts, but they sure don't last long...).

so now DH has no excuse for not exercising nod

he said, well, see, you'd have been over if you hadn't bought me that bike.

I said, no, I planned on just buying a gift card...

Well, HE detergent is better b/c it gives less sud, which takes less water to rinse. That's the point of using a front-loader. If you want to save as the max $$ and have the washer works effeciently, then buy HE detergents.

At least, that's how the Sears salesman explained it as he reeled us in for the kill. EEK!

laugh out loud I did find those, but mine were $3.74 each EEK! My store is always after everyone else on clearance and peelies. nod

I was in a rush so I went to the party aisle at T and bought whoopee cushions Big Grin What boy doesn't love those laugh out loud So the boys will get whopee cushions, 2 HW cars, a pencil, 1 set of camo temp tattoos, candy treat box, an eraser and a small note pad. Seems good enough to me Smilie
