Don't you just love it when things like that happen! Nature works in mysterious ways. Maybe something good will come out of it?

If it was not his fault, whatever you do, do ***NOT*** let the other insurance company take a recorded statement. They will use his own words against him.

Also if they ask if he's OK, he should tell them something like, "Well, I'm a stuff, bruised and ache some, but it's way to early to tell yet." Sometimes the pain, like pinched nerves don't happen for a couple days after the MVA. Insurance try to settle as fast as possible on medical, as once you sign the check, they are off the hook for any other medical costs.

In most states you have a year or two to settle on property damage and a seperate time to settle on medical. Keep ALL doctor/medical receipts and mileage records to and from the doctor, etc. Basically any costs you wouldn't have to normally spend money on if this wouldn't have happened.

There's 3 ways an auto is appraised, CCC which is they look around to see what other people are selling the same kind of car and year in your area. NADA, which have two levels. Regular NADA is just like Blue Book value. High NADA is what a dealer charges someone for your trade in after they've cleaned it up and jacked up the price a couple of thousand dollars. Also, high NADA is for a newer car and/or a car that has much lower mileage then a comprable car to it's make and year.

Oh, also most insurances have something called PIP (Personal Injury Protection). It covers up to about $2500 in mecical bills and should not go against your insurance.

I had to learn all this when a guy ran a red light and hit my suv so hard it caused it to flip onto it's side! Was paid for, 5 years old, and only 32K miles on it. I got about 3/4ths of what I paid for it, so it paid to do some research.

drool over your new car - I wanted a lexus so bad when I first got my license. First car was a chevy... current car is a VW... never again shake head

and hug over the accident - hope your DH is doing well now and that there isn't too much hassle with the insurance companies. And hopefully not too much bad bruising from the airbags!

You guys saved some cake for me... right? laugh out loud

Good ridance to my clunker jeep with no air (preggo ladies should never have to drive all summer with no air!!) that is falling apart and shakes so bad on the freeway it seems it's going to break down any second. And I just prayed everytime I pressed the brakes that it would actually stop, that shaking was scary.
Oh my, I'm so glad you have a safe car now! That sounds scary.

Thank you, I will!! Those suckers are the bomb!! Besides the couches and such, I used them to clean off these linen lamp shades that attract cat hair and lint to the degree that DH threatened to throw them out since I could never figure out anything to get them clean. Now they look brand new!

At Target the Tava was $3.19, so even after the $1.50 Q that is a no. Maybe it'll go on sale before the end of January '09. Right after I finished checking out and the cashier handed me my receipt, the manager I wrote in on came running over. So I wadded up and stuffed the receipt inbetween my boobies. She saw me do it and I dared her to reach in, as there would have been all kinds of civil trouble for her. She said that the TGIF Q's are copies and I said no they are not. Then I told her to have a nice day and I left.
It occasionally goes on sale for $2.50.

LMAO!! about the receipt. Good thinking.

Me neither. I am a creature of habit and hate that they moved the "first unread post" button. I keep putting my cursor over where it used to be. Frown

Well, it was either put it in between the tits or inside the panties, as she looked like she was going to try and grab the receipt.

If she would have tried to grab for it from in between my tits, I would have grabbed her by her long hair and all hell would have broken loose. Then she would have had civil charges filled upon her.
