I can't believe this just hit FP as I just had the worst experience ever with this item and HF. I purchased this same refurbed unit in October for $639.99, it arrived with dents in the tank and the electrical cord near the switch was severed and repaired with electrical tape. I emailed Product Support and after a month they had the shipping company pick it up and they sent another refurbed unit. This time it was missing parts and the oil inside was milky brown like it was left out in the rain and of course there was no top cap where you put the oil in. This unit also had some deep scratches on the tank so I emailed Product Support and asked for a third and they said they were clean out of stock and that they would give me a full credit including the freight delivery. This was literally 3 weeks ago at this point and I just received the credit yesterday after almost 4 months. Now they are selling this for $159 when they literally couldn't supply a replacement to me 3 weeks ago? Someone is either getting the two units I returned or a ton of people had the same experience I did.

You've been warned.

Nice try Slickdeals, you have tricked me into buying 3 air compressors already - I will not be had again.

(although none of them have been this nice...)

Can anyone recommend a air compressor for a sprinkler system? And only to be used for that.

This is an amazing price and I really considering it. The problem is that I'll probably only use it a handful of times a year. Now, I'm trying really hard to thing of ways to use this lol.

Hmm. Need to paint motorcycle fairings. This, plus the cheapo paint gun would come out cheaper than having them professionally done...even after shipping. Decisions...
nope wiring/plumbing and you have to do the work of a professional

Its Chinese fairings, not an automobile. A 10 footer in white can be done by anyone honestly. Wiring, sure but have an electric dryer opposite of the wall so a transfer switch and receptacle cant be too expensive.

Just a heads up, I called them up and asked about freight shipping.

I was informed it could be up to another $130 for a lift-gate charge on top of the $98 for shipping, which IMO kills this deal with only a 90 day warranty.

The compressor I was going to buy is the 21 Gal, 2.5 HP, 125 PSI Central Pneumatic that goes on sale frequently for the same price as this one at $160

http://www.harborfreight.com/21-g...61454.html

Is there any reason to go with this much bigger compressor for general home use (general automotive work, cutoff wheel, etc.)?

It looks like there is a local HF with this in stock so they would be the same price for me since no shipping would be involved.

The deal hunter in me says get the 60 Gal but I'm wondering if I'm better off with something smaller and lighter.

I've owned the 20 gallon about 8 years now and went ahead and upgraded. I don't like moving the 20 around anyway, it's parked in the same spot 99% of the time. Get a pancake or small 3-5 gallon if you need mobility.

Yeah, really starting to eat into it. I have the means to go pick one up for free, or technically a couple gallons of gas.

Adding $230 for delivery really hurts.
