TN panel, but to be honest, if you are going to use it as a main monitor, how often will you not sit right in front of it? TN is fine. I am waiting for the predator x34P, if great monitors like this one are getting this cheap, paying $1200+ for the Acer isn't going to be that appealing anymore.

It is 165Hz with g-sync. I have this 24" version and it is smooth like butter.
It is a TN Panel but I have a 29" LG IPS mounted above it on the wall. I primarily game on the Dell and watch video content on the LG. Very versatile setup.
