Sticking a 5400RPM hard drive in a $600 computer seems dumb. The rest of the specs look good, but I imagine this is going to be sluggish due to that hard drive.
Can anyone tell me how easy throwing an SSD in would be? @500+tax+SSD seems worth it.
Having trouble finding any reviews. May be a relatively new model. Crucial has both RAM and SSD upgrades listed for it which would seem to imply both can be upgraded.

"You can also easily upgrade the HDD to a SSD by removing the 10 or so T5 screws from the bottom, the cover will come right off."
There is an additional $100 in the most recent student deals email.
Pretty sure it's IPS. Almost all 2-in-1 are.
It only seems to be valid on select Surface Pro 4 and Surface Books, unless you are aware of another one. My friend is looking to buy a 2-in-1, and was looking at this one. For another $100 it would seal the deal, but can't get the the code he got to work on this one.

The most recent email should have several different coupons/codes. The Surface is the first one. The select laptops one should be the second, I think. Not at home now, but can PM you my code later, if you want it.

Yes, that would be great! I'd like to give the code you have a shot and see if it works.

Thank you!!
PM sent. Code should work. I tried it myself with the Q504UA in my cart before posting about it.
Note that my previous assumption about IPS was apparently wrong. Another poster above pointed to where an Asus rep responded to a BB customer question saying this has a TN panel.

Can't find service manual on Asus site, either.

Wow! That's pretty bad considering the price.
