I called Wells Fargo to confirm the deal. My wife was envious when I got a fat check from the previous deal.
I showed my sympathy by calling to confirm the deal is still around. They renewaled it.

1. Deposit at least $25 to fund your account.

Tues 3/14 received debit card, made 10 x $0.50 purchases (Amazon gift card reload)
Wed 3/15 received PIN in the mail, set up online access (needed PIN for this), but system gave an error so I had to call. The CSR was very helpful and set up my online account quickly and painlessly. Linked my regular bank account in preparation for emptying this account as soon as the bonus posted.
Fri 3/17 $250 bonus posted, transferred full account balance ($50 initial deposit + $250 bonus - $5 purchases = $295) to my regular bank account, sent message requesting account closure
Sun 3/19 received confirmation account has been closed
10 days, $250, very minimal effort. Not bad, especially considering that for the Chase checking/savings bonuses that come around every now and then you have to keep your account open for 6 months, 3 months of that with a $15,000 balance (for the savings one). Thank you, SD! Sorry to those of you who missed it; it's a shame they ended the promotion before the stated 3/24 date, but what can you expect from such a devious bank? Looking forward to the next churn.

My bonus posted within 3 days. Unless they have changed their protocols since last week, I'm sure you'll see your bonus post very soon. By the way, you're fairly new here so you might not know this, but the number one rule of Slickdeals is that you never call. Deals get killed when people call, which may have been what happened here (the promotion was supposed to last until 3/24, but they took it down around 3/11). Live and learn! Glad you got in before it disappeared.
