I called Wells Fargo to confirm the deal. My wife was envious when I got a fat check from the previous deal.
I showed my sympathy by calling to confirm the deal is still around. They renewaled it.

The $250 became a pending transaction less than 24 hours after 10 transactions posted. The 10 transactions took 24 hours to post. So, 48 hours-ish total time for transactions & bonus to post.
I did my transactions Monday night and Thursday morning I got my bonus. Easy money.
There is no obvious benefit to having more than one account for most people..

Nope, no direct deposit needed. Just follow steps and advice in this thread.
BTW, they also have my mortgage, and over the years, I've had a dozen other mortgages, checking, and savings accounts with them... but dropped them like a hot rock over a pretty significant event a little over 5 years ago. (I've been trying to NOT be their mortgage customer, but every time we buy a house... several in past few years... WF swoops in and buys it.)
Heck... just this morning, they emailed me a "billpay reminder"... I don't have billpay set up, and this is my only account besides mortgage. Idiots, all around. As was always the plan, as soon as I get the bonus, this account gets closed.

I hope it still works. They were unable to confirm about the promotion. I did open the account through the promotion page before 3/24/17 so here's hoping.
I also had some problems with my initial deposit being made. My deposit finally made it there a few days before the deadline. They will probably give you the bonus as long as the account opening was initiated before the 24th deadline.
