I called Wells Fargo to confirm the deal. My wife was envious when I got a fat check from the previous deal.
I showed my sympathy by calling to confirm the deal is still around. They renewaled it.

No reason to get stuck with some eco-box. Do it right at a $25000 deposit for a $250k car. Cool
Well, when the pulling starts it is usually soft, and then it gradually gets hard as the pulling continues. Then once you have "credited" all over it gets soft again and that is when the pulling stops.
Can confirm that's the deal breaker for you.

I didn't see anything about having to have the account open for 6 months or there will be a penalty for closing. It's fine to close once the bonus is credited and they won't penalize you?

If you got in on the original offer you can do your 10 transactions (from the thread some say 11), get the bonus and close your account (I closed mine through their secure mail). No penalties.

Did you bother to read the wiki, or any of the many previous responses in this thread to the same question?

I did this deal and they said I only made 9 transactions, Amazon didn't count. I feel screwed but what are you going to do?

Many of us did NOTHING but Amazon Micro transactions. My wife and I both bought 10 Amazon egift cards with debit using part of the $25 deposits in each account. Waited a few days and got our bonuses...

I read the wiki as I said earlier. Nope, this thread is way too long to read all the responses.

I'm currently being made to jump through hoops. The latest extremely cut-and-paste CS message to me is...

... so they have my SSN (provided during application process, of course), but they don't reeeaaallllly have my SSN. Later paragraph said I could take care of this in any branch. Went to branch, showed them the above message, and all I got were dumb looks and blank stares, then pointed back to online CS.

BTW, they also have my mortgage, and over the years, I've had a dozen other mortgages, checking, and savings accounts with them... but dropped them like a hot rock over a pretty significant event a little over 5 years ago. (I've been trying to NOT be their mortgage customer, but every time we buy a house... several in past few years... WF swoops in and buys it.)

Heck... just this morning, they emailed me a "billpay reminder"... I don't have billpay set up, and this is my only account besides mortgage. Idiots, all around. As was always the plan, as soon as I get the bonus, this account gets closed.
Did you ever get your bonus? I got mine but my gf got the same IRS bs..

I just requested to close my account on a secure message. Did you use any specific language?

Did anyone else have to wait a while to get your bonus? I signed up, with a message that my account would be bonus-eligible, received my card, did 11 Amazon transactions, waited a few days, did a few more transactions, and still nothing.

Status:
-13 posted transactions (first 11 Amazon ones cleared on 4/11/17)
-5 pending transactions

Still no sign of the bonus. From what I have read in this thread, CS is clueless when it comes to this promotion. Am I out of luck for this bonus?

FYI, My wife and I received our bonus 2 days after the 10th Amazon transactions cleared. You may want to read the last 5-6 pages - I thought I saw a couple posts about how Wells Fargo may not recognize small amazon transactions. I could be quoting it wrong though ,..

I am in a similar situation. But I closed my old account of 15 years on 3/3 so not sure if that disqualify me the bonus on the new account Frown

If it was a checking account, then yes.

Was a new customer checking offer.

For what its worth... just got my $250 bonus today - two days after making 11 Amazon gift card balance reloads (each one $.01 more than the previous, starting at $1).

Now to transfer to my actual bank and close the account. Probably the easiest $250 ive ever made.

I thought it says "You cannot be a CURRENT owner on a Wells Fargo consumer checking account". I guess try my wishful thinking Smilie. Maybe better luck next time.
