Thinking about buying a brickseek membership.
How has it worked out for you? Is it worth the price tag?

So far no. been a member 2 months. Most of the super crazy deals are nowhere local for me. I'd say keep your money.

People are actually paying for a Brickseek membership?

In order to find deals BEFORE they're featured on Brickseek(or deal sites like SD,CAG,FW,etc) you need to get to the stores and check for stuff you want yourself, get the numbers for them and then use sites like Brickseek, Bmseek.tk and so on to keep an eye on pricing until it reaches your buy price.

I did a google search on CAG and FW, couldn't find anything. What is CAG(cheapassgamer?) and FW?
You seem well versed in this game, do you do alot of flips?

CAG is cheapassgamer
FW is fat wallet.

Brickseek is different than those. Typically someone finds a great deal, posts it on their favorite site, then other people upvote and downvote it. Then others go shopping for the same deal. It requires you finding markdowns and sharing.

Brickseek has some way of actually checking inventory and current prices of an item. So instead of hoping that your local walmart has the same price, you can see it. It has promising potential. But as I said so far the things that are 99% marked down are no where near me, instead only normal 25-50% markdowns. Which is what the items are about worth.

If you have other questions I will be happy to help.

I've canceled my membership but it's still good until middle of next month. If you want I'll give you my login details and you can try it yourself. It's junk really.

Thanks for letting me know about Brickseek! The free membership is just for your local area, but I wouldn't be willing to travel far anyway...It kind of defeats the purpose.

For me I have FOUR Walmart(and two Target) stores within about 20 miles of here. If I branch out and go on a road trip I can add at least another 4 stores if I go to a 60 mile radius from home.

But I've found enough deals through return/re-buy shenanigans at just those four stores that it's not worth the extra trek unless I'm gonna be in the area anyway.

Anyway I usually find my deals the old school way. I go into the stores and see them firsthand. Either that or I'll spend an hour(or two) cut/pasting the DPCI's(Target) or SKU's(Walmart) into Brickseek or Bmseek.tk to check and double check pricing. I've found a lot of decent deals that way that weren't reported here or anywhere as of yet.

But you have to be willing to do the legwork without asking for people to hand information to you in order to get the deals before anybody else.
