These are Brand New in Open Box and comes with Sony Warranty.
mmm 3th instead of 3rd, and Sony instead with a "0" S0ny - i would pass on that site. Not worth the gamble imo for less than a $10 difference.
I can vouch for these headphones I have 2 pairs (Black & Silver) as daily drivers. I have an issue with wearing most headphones for too long due to the slight constant pressure on or around my ears. These headphones solve that issue, they are light weight (relative) and super soft. My ears fit in side them perfectly without touching.
Pros:
Comfort, these are probably the most confortable pair of headphones on the market. Light clamp pressure, super soft ear pads
Audio Quality, sound great can be driven without an amp
Build Quality, only my black pair which i use the least shows wear around the edges on the paint. They have held up great for 2 years of pretty aggressive use
Cables are long and super durable, I haven't had any issues with cables even though my dog will often rip the cord out of the headphone by accident
Cons:
The material covering the ear pad is vinyl/pleather and causes my ears to overheat after prolonged use without ventilation
These are not portable headphones, the font fold down flat and are quite bulky (which is why I have 2 pairs so I do not have to transport)
Size even though these headphones are light they are fairly large all around, with other headphones I am able to hang them around my neck when I am having a conversation, these are too large to have around my neck and be comfortable talking (speaker housing is to large)
Cables have custom prong length, while thankfully these cables were great i was concerned with my dogs being so rough when I first got them that they would need to be replaced so looking into it at the time (when released) you could only get these custom cables from sony
Mine came in brand new, and I felt cheated, as I ordered a torn/damaged box.
The solution was easy:. I simply tore off the edge of the box. Great deal btw. They sound wonderful.
Hmm...Classical, Opera, and scores are made for open aired headphones, unfortunately. But still good.

This is as low as you can bid for these on ebay used..... This is a win. I was going to wait another month but I'm in for these at this price NEW......
Headphones for dogs: "With a frequency range extending up to 100 kHz, the High-Resolution Audio MDR-1A headphones capture the true essence of each track ..."
Who the heck can hear 100kHz ??? No human being can but let's extend the frequency range anyway, and charge double for a feature no one can use.
nice price. saw some reviews on amazon saying this is better than qc25. was going to jump on this until i see open/torn box. usually it means it's been worn. not comfortable buying used/worn headphones...
